Oakland Athletics
The Oakland Athletics are set to take on the Chicago Cubs on Monday, April 17th, 2023, and there are plenty of exciting DFS options to consider for your lineup.
Ramon Laureano is a player to keep an eye on, despite batting just .158 over the last five days. At a salary of $4,000, he’s projected to score 6.94 DraftKings points with a DK rating of 52.58. With a right-handed pitcher on the mound, Laureano’s right-handed bat could make for a favorable matchup.
Jace Peterson, at a salary of $2,400, has a projected score of 6.41 DraftKings points with a DK rating of 65.72. Although he has a low Well-Hit Rate of just 10.9% in his last 46 at-bats, Peterson could still provide value in Monday’s DFS contests.
Esteury Ruiz has been performing well this season with a wOBA of .355 in 62 plate appearances. At a salary of $2,800, Ruiz has a projected score of 6.28 DraftKings points and a DK rating of 80.98. This could be a great opportunity to stack Ruiz with other Oakland hitters.
Carlos Perez is another player to consider for your DFS lineup. Although he’s only projected to score 3.11 DraftKings points at a salary of $2,400, he has a DK rating of 98.68 and has been slugging .786 over his last 14 at-bats. With a high DK rating and low ownership percentage, Perez could be a sneaky play that pays off big.
Overall, the Oakland Athletics have several players that could make for a strong stack in Monday’s DFS contests. Whether you choose to stack Laureano and his right-handed bat against a right-handed pitcher or take a chance on players like Peterson, Ruiz, and Perez, there are plenty of options to choose from. So, put together your best lineup and get ready for an exciting day of MLB DFS action!
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks are set to take on the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, April 17th, 2023, and there are a few players to keep an eye on for your DFS lineup.
Corbin Carroll could be a strong play against Jack Flaherty, as he has been hitting right-handers who rely heavily on both the slider and curve, like Flaherty, very well over the last two seasons with a slugging percentage of .842. Carroll is projected to score 8.21 DraftKings points at a salary of $3,100 and has a high DK rating of 94.62.
Jake McCarthy is another Diamondback to consider, with an OPS of .954 in 51 at-bats against bottom-tier right-handers like Flaherty over the last two seasons. McCarthy is projected to score 7.24 DraftKings points at a salary of $3,300 and has a DK rating of 88.13.
Ketel Marte is projected to be the second batter in the order, but he has been struggling at the plate over the last five days with a batting average of just .091. However, he has the ability to break out of his slump at any time and could be a valuable addition to your lineup. Marte is projected to score 5.14 DraftKings points at a salary of $4,200.
Overall, the Diamondbacks have a few players with favorable matchups against Flaherty, but the Cardinals’ right-hander has been tough on left-handed hitters who hit for a high average like Josh Rojas, who is projected to be the leadoff hitter for Arizona. Rojas has a low DK rating of 57.08, but he is projected to score 7.57 DraftKings points at a salary of $4,600. Consider these factors when constructing your lineup and look for value where you can find it.
Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers are set to face Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals today, and there are some great matchups for the Rangers batters to take advantage of.
Nate Lowe, priced at $4,400, and has a great matchup against Lyles, with a projected DK rating of 68.59 and a projection of 10.26. His fellow infielder Marcus Semien, who is priced higher at $5,400, is projected in the leadoff spot and he has an impressive slugging percentage of .582 against right-handed pitchers with a similar repertoire to Lyles over the last two seasons.
Adolis Garcia, has also shown great success against pitchers like Lyles, with a slugging percentage of .531 in his last 209 plate appearances. Robbie Grossman, has taken Lyles deep twice in his last 12 plate appearances against him, making him an excellent value pick at $2,700.
Other Rangers hitters to keep an eye on include Jonah Heim, who is slugging .487 in his 39 at-bats this season, and Josh Jung, who has a slugging percentage of .522 against soft-throwing right-handed pitchers like Lyles over the last two years.
While some Rangers batters have had less success against Lyles, such as Ezequiel Duran and Sandy Leon, the overall matchup data favors the Rangers, with their hitters having a 3.5 star average matchup against Lyles.
In summary, the Texas Rangers have a favorable matchup against Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals today, with several hitters poised to have big performances and provide excellent value for their DK salary.
St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals are set to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the batters are ready to put on a show. Nolan Arenado, the third baseman for the Cardinals, is projected to have an outstanding matchup against Merrill Kelly. Arenado has a slugging percentage of .800 with two extra base hits in just 10 at-bats against Kelly, and he’s looking to add to those impressive numbers.
Meanwhile, Paul Goldschmidt, another Cardinal standout, hasn’t fared as well against top tier right-handers like Kelly. In his last 210 plate appearances against them, Goldschmidt has a wOBA of just .236. But the Cardinals are batting .291 against right-handed pitchers with a similar repertoire to Kelly over the last two years, so there’s still hope for Goldschmidt and the rest of the team.
Nolan Gorman is also expected to have a strong showing, as he’s been slugging .745 in his last 56 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers like Kelly. And Brendan Donovan has a solid matchup, with a .319 batting average at home over the last year.
Lars Nootbaar is projected to perform well in several matchup categories, while Tommy Edman has a slugging percentage of .510 in his last 113 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers like Kelly. Willson Contreras is another batter to keep an eye on, as he’s slugging .507 in his last 83 plate appearances against similar pitchers.
Jordan Walker, Alec Burleson, and Tyler O’Neill have potential but may face some challenges against Kelly. Dylan Carlson, on the other hand, has struggled against top tier right-handers like Kelly, with a batting average of just .167 in his last 144 plate appearances against them.
Andrew Knizner is also facing a tough matchup, as right-handed batters with low well-hit rates like him have a well-hit rate of just 4.8% against Kelly over the last two seasons.
Overall, the Cardinals have a strong lineup with several batters who have favorable matchups against Kelly. With their talent and determination, they’ll be sure to put up a fight and give the Diamondbacks a run for their money.
