MLB DFS Top Stacks for Saturday 4/22/23 Early Slate

mlb dfs top stacks

Welcome to today’s MLB DFS Top Stacks for Saturday 4/22/23 Early Slate. We’ve got 2 slates to dig into today and this early slate starts 1:00pm so lets dig in

Phillies vs Kyle Freeland

Looking at the batter matchups, we can see that the Phillies have some excellent options to consider. Trea Turner leads the way with an impressive .972 slugging percentage in his last 40 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers with a similar repertoire to Kyle Freeland. Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto also have solid matchup notes against Freeland, both boasting a slugging percentage above .550 in their last 130 and 95 plate appearances respectively against left-handers with low strikeout rates.

Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm also make for strong considerations with their past success against soft-throwing left-handers like Freeland. While Bohm’s matchup data is limited, he still has the potential to put up some solid numbers. Bryson Stott, Cristopher Sanchez, Josh Harrison, Edmundo Sosa, Cristian Pache, Brandon Marsh, Garrett Stubbs, Jake Cave, and Kody Clemens round out the rest of the Phillies lineup.

It’s worth noting that the current Phillies hitters have an OPS of .826 against soft-throwing left-handed pitchers like Freeland over the last two years. With these favorable matchups, it’s not surprising to see why the Phillies make for such an attractive stack option.

In terms of DK projections, Turner, Schwarber, and Realmuto all rank within the top two tiers with DK ratings above 90. Castellanos and Bohm are also solid picks, both ranking within the top five tiers with DK ratings above 65. The remaining Phillies players are mostly in the lower tiers, but could still provide some value for those looking to round out their lineup.

Overall, the Phillies stack looks like a strong option for Saturday’s early slate. With favorable matchups and a variety of players to choose from, there’s plenty of potential for big fantasy points. So, consider stacking the Phillies in your DFS lineups and good luck!

Twins vs Chad Kuhl

As the Minnesota Twins prepare to take on the Washington Nationals, all eyes are on their star outfielder, Byron Buxton. With a DK rating of 79.24, Buxton is projected to have a big game against Nationals pitcher Chad Kuhl. In his last 134 plate appearances against right-handers who rely heavily on the slider like Kuhl, Buxton has been absolutely slugging with a .544 batting average. The matchup data may be in favor of the Nationals, but Buxton’s impressive performance against Kuhl cannot be ignored.

Joining Buxton in the Twins’ lineup is shortstop Carlos Correa. With a DK rating of 88.07, Correa is projected to have a strong game against Kuhl as well. In his last 150 plate appearances against bottom tier right-handers like Kuhl, Correa has a wOBA of .402 with 7 home runs. He has been an integral part of the Twins’ offense this season and is poised to make a significant impact in this game.

Second baseman Jorge Polanco is another player to watch in this matchup. With a DK rating of 88.08, he has been hitting right-handers with high flyball rates like Kuhl hard in his last 246 plate appearances. He has a slugging percentage of .545 against this type of pitcher, and he could be a key player in the Twins’ offensive strategy.

While Kuhl may pose a challenge to some of the Twins’ batters, there are still opportunities for other players to step up and make an impact. Outfielder Max Kepler and first baseman/outfielder Joey Gallo may have struggled against Kuhl in the past, but they still have potential to come through in this game. Kepler has a .308 batting average against pitchers like Kuhl, while Gallo has a powerful bat that could come in handy against a right-hander who relies heavily on the slider.

Ultimately, it will be an interesting matchup to watch as the Twins take on the Nationals. With a mix of proven performers and potential game-changers in their lineup, the Twins have the tools to succeed against Kuhl and the Nationals. Fans should buckle up for an exciting game with plenty of opportunities for the Twins to shine.

Dodgers vs Hayden Wesneski

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to continue their dominance on the road as they face off against the Chicago Cubs, and their batters are poised to deliver big performances. Leading the way is the red-hot Freddie Freeman, who has been mashing left-handed pitching this season. He’s projected to bat second and should have a great opportunity to do damage against Hayden Wesneski, who has struggled against lefties with power in the past.

Mookie Betts is another Dodgers batter to watch out for. He’s projected to lead off and has a proven track record of success when hitting on the road. His ability to get on base and wreak havoc on the basepaths could set the tone for the rest of the lineup.

J.D. Martinez and Max Muncy have also been swinging the bat well lately and will look to continue their hot streaks against Wesneski. And while James Outman doesn’t have much of a track record at the major league level, he could be a sneaky value play for daily fantasy players looking to take a chance on an under-the-radar option.

On the other hand, left-handed hitters like David Peralta could struggle against Wesneski, who has been tough on them in the past. Austin Barnes and Jason Heyward also have tough matchups and may not be worth the investment in daily fantasy contests.

All in all, the Dodgers have a strong lineup that should be able to produce runs against Wesneski and the Cubs. Look for Freeman, Betts, Martinez, and Muncy to lead the way and help the Dodgers secure another road victory.
