MLB GPP Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel 9-10

I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Starting Pitchers
Gerrit Cole- At $10,300 on DraftKings and $11,200 on FanDuel, Cole is priced up for a matchup against Baltimore. Cole has been rock solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 12.12 and an xFIP of 3.59. In his last start, he looked more like the Gerrit Cole for last year and I look for that to continue on today’s slate. Baltimore has posted a wRC+ of 109 in 2020 but, I’ll lean on the 3.18 implied run total in this spot. Gerrit Cole will be the cornerstone of my pitching exposure on today’s slate.
Sonny Gray- At $9,600 on DraftKings and $10,100 on FanDuel, Gray is priced up for a matchup against the Cubs. Gray has been elite in 2020 posting a K/9 of 11.91 and an xFIP of 3.15. The Cubs have been below average on offense posting a wRC+ of 95 but, they have power throughout the lineup. The field could shy away from Gray due to his last start in which he lasted .2 innings and gave up 6 earned runs. I’ll have Sonny Gray in tournaments.
Sandy Alcantara- At $6,600 on DraftKings and $9,200 on FanDuel, Alcantara is at varying price points for a matchup against Philadelphia. I’m only interested in Alcantara on DraftKings at a big discount. Alcantara has been about league average posting a K/9 of 9.18 and an xFIP of 4.34. The Phillies have been solid on offense posting a wRC+ of 108. Alacantara just needs to manage the damage at that $6,600 price tag and I think he gets the job done on today’s slate.

Stacks
Los Angeles Dodgers- The Dodgers have a matchup with Madison Bumgarner with an implied run total of 5.57. Bumgarner has been atrocious in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.33 and an xFIP of 7.18. The Dodgers have been elite on offense all season posting a wRC+ of 117 and an ISO of .217. The Dodgers check off all of the boxes in this spot and should score with ease in this spot. Focus on Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, and A.J. Pollock.
Tampa Bay Rays- The Rays have a matchup against Mike Kickham with an implied run total of 5.34. The Rays have been elite on offense posting a wRC+ of 110 and a wOBA of .328. Kickham is a fringe MLB pitcher at best and shouldn’t last long in this outing. I anticipate a lot of early runs from the Rays in this spot. Focus on Austin Meadows, Brandon Lowe, Mike Brosseau, and Hunter Renfroe.
San Francisco Giants- The Giants have a matchup against Chris Paddack with an implied run total of 3.66. Paddack has been solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 9.13 and an xFIP of 3.71. The Giants have posted a wRC+ of 115 and a wOBA of .340. The Giants should fly under the radar due to the low total and could be leverage against potential Paddack ownership. I’ll have some shares of the Giants in this spot. Focus on Mike Yastrzemski, Alex Dickerson, Evan Longoria, and Brandon Belt.
