MLB GPP Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel 9-11

Grab a cup of coffee and let’s dive into my MLB GPP picks for the main slate on DraftKings and Fanduel. Be sure to subscribe to get in-depth analysis, Study Hubs, tiered rankings, player pools, and $20 of FantasyCruncher credit monthly for Ronin members! I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.

Starting Pitchers

Lucas Giolito- At 10,500 on DraftKings and $10,800 on FanDuel, Giolito is priced up for a matchup against Detroit. Giolito has been rock solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 12.35 and an xFIP of 2.97. Detroit has posted a massive K% of 27.3% which raises an already high ceiling for Giolito. I look for Giolito to have little resistance against this Tigers’ lineup.

Shane Bieber- At $11,000 on DraftKings and $11,600 on FanDuel, Bieber is priced up for a matchup against Minnesota. Bieber is the current Cy Young frontrunner for the American League posting a K/9 of 14.67 and an xFIP of 1.72. Minnesota is in the bottom half in the league in offense posting a wRC+ of 99 and Max Kepler is still on the Injured List. I have a fever and the only prescription is more Shane Bieber. Bieber will be the cornerstone of my pitching exposure on today’s slate.

Kris Bubic- At $6,600 on DraftKings and $7,000 on FanDuel, Bubic is priced down for a matchup against Pittsburgh, Bubic is coming off back to back games in which he’s pitched into the 6th inning and allowed exactly 2 earned runs. Pittsburgh has been abysmal on offense posting a wRC+ of 70 and a K% of 23.9%, This is more of a DraftKings play than a FanDuel play for me. I’ll have shares of Bubic to get to the expensive stacks.

Stacks

Chicago White Sox- The White Sox have a matchup against Casey Mize with an implied run total of 5.38. Mize has had some growing pains to start his MLB career posting an xFIP of 5.31. The White Sox have been an elite offense posting a wRC+ of 120 and an ISO of .203. Focus on Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, Jose Abreu, and Yasmani Grandal.

Oakland Athletics- The Athletics have a matchup against Luis Garcia and the Rangers’ bullpen with an implied run total of 5.3. The A’s offense has underperformed but, the large total indicates that they’ll score in bunches in this spot. The abundance of power bats makes this Oakland lineup appealing against a Rangers pitching staff that has posted an xFIP of 4.98. I’ll have the A’s in tournaments. Focus on Matt Olson, Tommy LaStella, Mark Canha, and Ramon Laureano.

San Diego Padres- The Padres have a matchup against Johnny Cueto with an implied run total of 5.08. Cueto has had his struggles posting a K/9 of 8.75 and an xFIP of 4.68. Slam Diego has been elite all season posting a wRC+ of 120 and an ISO of .222. Cueto is not fooling hitters and that’s a recipe for failure against this Padres offense. Focus on Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Mitch Moreland, and Jake Cronenworth.
