I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Starting Pitchers
Sixto Sanchez- At $6,200 on DraftKings, Sanchez is priced down for a matchup against Philadelphia. FanDuel does not have this game on their slate. Sixto has been dominant in his first cracks at the big leagues posting a K/9 of 9.0 and an xFIP of 3.04. The Phillies do present a tough matchup but, I cannot ignore the discount for an elite arm. I look for Sixto to have a quality start on today’s slate.
Charlie Morton- At $7,500 on DraftKings and FanDuel, Morton is priced for a mid-range for a matchup against Boston. Morton has regressed in 2020 posting a K/9 of 9.13 and an xFIP of 4.45. We know that Morton has a double-digit strikeout ceiling and an uninspired Red Sox offense could be just what he needs to turn things around. I’ll be leaning on the low implied run total of 3.34 in this spot.
Michael Pineda- At $8,200 on DraftKings and FanDuel, Pineda is priced in the mid-range for a matchup against Cleveland. Pineda is on a good run posting at least 8 strikeouts in 4 of his last 5 starts. Cleveland has posted a wRC+ of 83 and a K% of 23.3% in 2020. I’ll continue to ride the wave with Pineda in tournaments.

Stacks
New York Yankees- The Yankees have a matchup against John Means with an implied run total of 5.94. Means has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.88 and an xFIP of 5.47. The Yankees offense is heating up and driven their season wRC+ up to 108. I expect the Yankees to score in bunches in this spot. Focus on Luke Voit, Aaron Hicks, Clint Frazier, and Gleyber Torres.
Tampa Bay Rays- The Rays have a date with Martin Perez with an implied run total of 4.66. Perez has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.94 and an xFIP of 5.65. The Rays have swung the bats well in 2020 posting a wRC+ of 111 and an ISO of .197. I anticipate mostly right-handed batters in their lineup today which makes this spot even more intriguing. Focus on Hunter Renfroe, Mike Brosseau, Randy Arozarena, and Brandon Lowe.
Baltimore Orioles- The Orioles have a matchup against J.A. Happ with an implied run total of 4.06. Happ has been volatile in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.18 and an xFIP of 4.90. The Orioles have been surprising posting a wRC+ of 103 and an ISO of .177. Happ has been known to have days where he doesn’t have the stuff to compete and I’ willing to take my shots in this spot. Focus on D.J. Stewart, Ryan Mountcastle, Renato Nunez, and Hanser Alberto.
See ya in discord,
