I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Starting Pitchers
Jack Flaherty- At $9,400 on DraftKings and $9,800 on FanDuel, Flaherty is priced up for a matchup against Milwaukee. Flaherty has been solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 9.23 and an xFIP of 3.59. Milwaukee has struggled all season posting a wRC+ of 87, which is towards the bottom of the league. I expect Flaherty to dominate in this spot and comes at a discount compared to other studs on the slate.
Deivi Garcia- At $6,800 on DraftKings and $8,900 on FanDuel, Garcia is at varying price points for a matchup against Toronto. This is more of a DraftKings play than a FanDuel play for me. Garcia has gotten off to a strong start in his MLB career posting a K/9 of 9.17 and an xFIP of 4.21. The Blue Jays have been good offensively but, they do have guys in their lineup that will strikeout above the average rate. I look for Garcia to have a quality start and smash value on today’s slate.
Yu Darvish- At $11,300 on DraftKings and $11,200 on FanDuel, Darvish is priced up for a matchup against Cleveland. Darvish has dominated all season posting a K/9 of 11.57 and an xFIP of 2.62. Cleveland has been pedestrian on offense all season posting a wRC+ of 84. I expect Darvish to have a double-digit strikeout game and he will be a cornerstone of my pitching exposure on today’s slate.
Stacks
Oakland Athletics- The A’s have a matchup against Antonio Senzatela with an implied run total of 6.38. Not much to say besides Senzatela is a pitch to contact pitcher against a powerful A’s lineup at Coors Field. I’m anticipating Oakland putting up multiple crooked numbers in this spot and I don’t think Senzatela lasts 4 innings in this spot. Focus on Matt Olson, Tommy LaStella, Ramon Laureano, and Marcus Semien.
Los Angeles Angels- The Angels have a matchup against Madison Bumgarner with an implied run total of 5.41. Bumgarner has been atrocious posting a K/9 of 5.81 and an xFIP of 7.17. The Angels have been in the top third in the league offensively posting a wRC+ of 106 and an ISO of .177. Bumgarner has struggled all season and I look for that to continue on today’s slate. Focus on Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon, Shohei Ohtani, and Albert Pujols.
New York Mets- The Mets have a date with Jake Arrieta with an implied run total of 4.87. Arrieta has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.46 nd an xFIP 4.42. The Mets have been elite offensively posting a wRC+ of 123 and an ISO of .185. I expect the Mets to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Jeff McNeil, Michael Conforto, Pete Alonso, and Dominic Smith.
See ya in discord,
