I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Framber Valdez- At $9,700 onDraftKings and $10,000 on FanDuel, Valdez is priced up for a matchup against Seattle. Valdez has solidified his spot in the Astros’ rotation posting a K/9 of 9.61 and an xFIP of 3.02. Seattle has posted a massive K% of 24.5% in 2020 which makes this spot even better for Valdez. I expect Valdez to dominate in today’s start and I’ll have him in tournaments.
Blake Snell- At $9,500 on DraftKings and $9,200 on FanDuel, Snell is priced up for a matchup against the Mets. Snell has performed up to expectations in 2020 posting a K/9 of 10.96 and an xFIP of 3.07. The matchup against the Mets isn’t great but, an implied run total of 3.57 indicates that Snell should have success in this spot. I’ll lean on the low total and Snell’s high ceiling in this spot.
Brady Singer- At $6,900 on DraftKings and $9,600 on FanDuel, Singer is at varying price point for a matchup against St. Louis. This is definitely a DraftKings play and not a FanDuel play for me. Singer has progressed throughout the 2020 season and has posted back to back 8 strikeout games in which he allowed 0 earned runs in 14 innings pitched. The Cardinals bats have been struggling lately and their implied run total is relatively low at 4.14. I’ll ride the hot hand in this spot.
Atlanta Braves- The Braves have a matchup against Jose Urena with an implied run total of 5.27. Urena has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.0 and an xFIP of 6.10. The Braves have been an elite offense all season posting a wRC+ of 121 and an ISO of .218. I expect the Braves to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Ronald Acuna Jr., Freddie Freeman, Marcell Ozuna, and Adam Duvall.
San Diego Padres- The Padres have a matchup against Griffin Canning with an implied run total of 5.11 Canning has had a pedestrian 2020 campaign posting a K/9 of 8.23 and an xFIP of 4.97. The Padres have been a force to be reckoned with all season posting a wRC+ of 118 and an ISO of .212. I expect the Padres to score in bunches in this spot. Focus on Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Mitch Moreland, and Jake Cronenworth.
Houston Astros- The Astros have a matchup against Ljay Newsome with an implied run total of 4.76. Newsome has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.35 and an xFIP of 4.38. The Astros have been average on offense posting a wRC+ of 97 but, they have been dealing with injuries. I expect Houston to knock Newsome out of the game early in this spot. Focus on George Springer, Alex Bregman, Kyle Tucker, and Michael Brantley.
See ya in discord,
