MLB GPP Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel 9-24

Starting Pitchers
Corbin Burnes- At $8,400 on DraftKings and $10,600 on FanDuel, Burnes is at varying price points for a matchup against St. Louis. Burnes is in the midst of a breakout season posting a K/9 of 13.34 and an xFIP of 2.90. The Cardinals have been below average on offense posting a wRC+ of 93 and a K% of 23.3%. Burnes should have no problems cruising through this lineup in a must-win game for the Brew Crew. Burnes will be the cornerstone of my pitching exposure.
Cristian Javier- At $7,400 on DraftKings and FanDuel, Javier is at a favorable price point for a matchup against Texas. Javier has had a decent rookie campaign posting a K/9 of 8.88 and an xFIP of 4.90. The Rangers offense has been abysmal posting a wRC+ of 64 and a K% of 25.4%. This is a huge strikeout spot for Javier and he projects to have the stuff to rack up 7-10 strikeout games. I’ll have Javier in tournaments.
Ian Anderson- At $8,800 on DraftKings and $9,900 on FanDuel, Anderson is at a reasonable price point for a matchup against Miami. Anderson has been lights out thus far in his MLB career posting a K/9 of 11.81 and an xFIP of 3.52. The Marlins offense has been pedestrian at best posting a wRC+ of 97 and a K% of 25%. We could see a ceiling game from Anderson in this spot. I’ll have shares of Anderson in tournaments.

Los Angeles Dodgers- The Dodgers have a matchup against Mike Fiers with an implied rn total of 5.39. Fiers has been abysmal in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.67 and an xFIP of 5.57. The Dodgers have been elite on offense all season posting a wRC+ of 121 and an ISO of .222. The dodgers should have no problem dominaing this matchup. Fiers should be out of this game by the 4th inning. Focus on Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Corey Seager, and Cody Bellinger.
Kansas City Royals- The Royals have a date with Michael Fulmer with an implied run total of 5.29. Fulmer has not been able to put it all together in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.11 and an xFIP of 5.58. The Royals offense is nothing to be excited about but, they are cheap on both sites and the matchup is about as good as it can get. I’ll lean on the high total in this spot. Focus on Salvador Perez, Whit Merrifield, Jorge Soler, and Adalberto Mondesi.
Baltimore Orioles- The Orioles have a matchup against Matin Perez with an implied run total of 4.21. Perez has stuggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 6.83 and an xFIP of 5.18. The Orioles offense has fallen off down the stretch but, the whole lineup is cheap on both sites and Perez won’t dominate any lineup. I’ll take my chances on the Orioles. Focus on Ryan Mountcastle, Renato Nunez, Austin Hays, and Jose Iglesias.
