Grab a cup of coffee and let’s dive into my MLB GPP picks for the main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Be sure to subscribe to get in-depth analysis, Study Hubs, tiered rankings, player pools, and $20 of FantasyCruncher credit monthly for Ronin members! I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Carlos Carrasco- At $10,400 on DraftKings and $10,800 on FanDuel, Carrasco is priced up for a matchup against Pittsburgh. Carrasco has had his ups and downs in 2020 posting a K/9 of 10.74 and an xFIP of 3.70. Pittsburgh offers a pristine matchup posting a wRC+ of 71 and a K% of 24.2%. At this point, we know Carrasco will either dominate or get knocked around and not hit value. It’s a volatile play against a lineup that is horrendous. I’ll have shares of Carrasco in tournaments.
Chris Bassitt- At $7,900 on DraftKings and $8,600 on FanDuel, Bassitt is priced in the mid-range for a matchup against Seattle. Bassitt has turned a corner over his last 3 starts posting 19 strikeouts and 1 earned run over 19 2/3 innings pitched. Seattle has been pedestrian on offense posting a wRC+ of 92 and a K% of 24.7%. I’m expecting Bassitt to keep the momentum in this spot and post a quality start.
Yu Darvish- At $10,800 on DraftKings and $11,200 on FanDuel, Darvish is priced up for a matchup against the White Sox. Darvish has been rock solid in 2020 posting a K/9 of 11.48 and an xFIP of 2.68. The White Sox have been an elite offense posting a wRC+ of 144 but, they strike out at a massive rate of 25.2%. The Cubs are looking to clinch the NL Central this weekend and I expect them to Ride Darvish as long as they can. I’ll have Darvish in tournaments.
Atlanta Braves- The Braves have a matchup against Chris Mazza with an implied run total of 5.92. Mazza has struggled in 2020 posting a BB/9 of 4.68 and an xFIP of 4.87. The Braves have been elite on offense posting a wRC+ of 122 and an ISO of .218. Mazza is going to give free baserunners which adds more opportunities for crooked numbers. Sign me up. Focus on Freddie Freeman, Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, and Ozzie Albies.
New York Yankees- The Yankees have a matchup against Sandy Alcantara with an implied run total of 5.59. Alcantara has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.79 and an xFIP of 4.44. The Yankees have proven to be an elite offense posting a wRC+ of 117 and an ISO of .203. I expect the Bombers to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Luke Voit, Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks, and Gleyber Torres.
Oakland Athletics- The A’s have a matchup against Yusei Kikuchi with an implied run total of 4.75. Kikuchi has fallen off down the stretch giving up 19 earned runs over his last 27 1/3 innings pitched. The A’s have fallen off offensively but are playing for seeding in the AL playoffs. I expect Oakland to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Ramon Laureano, Matt Olson, Mark Canha, and Marcus Semien.
See ya in discord,
