I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.
Starting Pitchers
Max Scherzer- At $10,400 on DraftKings and $11,000 on FanDuel, Scherzer is priced up for a matchup against Tampa Bay. I expect this to be a volatile spot. Tampa Bay has posted a wRC+ of 113 but, they have stuck out at a 24.7% clip. We know how dominant Scherzer can be on any given night and there are strikeouts in this Rays lineup. I’ll have Scherzer as a high ceiling tournament play.
Dinelson Lamet- At $8,800 on DraftKings and $9,000 on FanDuel, Lamet is at a reasonable price point for a matchup against Colorado. Lamet has been reliable all season posting a K/9 of 11.49 and a FIP of 3.32. Lamet provides a high floor and Colorado has an implied run total of 3.25. I expect a quality start from Lamet today and he will be the bulk of my pitching exposure.
Kevin Gausman- At $6,100 on DraftKings and $7,700 on FanDuel, Gausman is priced down for a matchup against Arizona. This is more of a DraftKings play for me. Gausman has been rock solid posting a K/9 of 11.73 and a FIP of 3.76. Arizona has been abysmal on offense posting a wRC+ of 80. I expect Gausman to have a quality start on today’s slate.

Stacks
San Diego Padres- The Padres have a matchup against Kyle Freeland with an implied run total of 4.75. Freeland has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.73 and a FIP of 4.53. San Diego has been swinging the bats well all season posting a wRC+ of 121 and an ISO of .223, both leading the league. I expect Slam Diego to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Wil Myers, and Austin Nola.
Oakland Athletics- The A’s have a matchup against Cristian Javier with an implied run total of 4.99. Javier has had his struggles in 2020 posting a FIP of 5.14 and a K/9 of 8.12. Javier has struggled to put hitters away with two strikes and the massive total indicates that will continue in this spot. Oakland has power throughout the lineup which offers a high ceiling. Sign me up. Focus on Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, Tommy LaStella, and Mark Canha.
Toronto Blue Jays- The Blue Jays have a matchup against Jordon Montgomery with an implied run total of 4.91. Montgomery has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.92 and a FIP of 4.71. The Blue Jays have posted a wRC+ of 106 and an ISO of .192. The Jays hit for power and are facing a pitcher that pitches to contact, that’s a recipe for success. Focus on Vlad Guerrero Jr., Randal Grichuk, Lourdes Gurriel, and Johnathan Villar.
