I’m going to highlight plays that have tournament winning upside. Let’s get into it.

Starting Pitchers

Walker Buehler- At $10,200 on DraftKings and $10,400 on FanDuel, Buehler is priced up for a matchup against Arizona. Buehler has posted back to back quality starts and has looked like the Buehler that we are used to seeing. Arizona has been near the bottom of the league all season in offense posting a  wRC+ of 79. An implied run total of 3.66 suggests Buehler will excel in this spot and I’ll have him in tournaments.

Mike Clevinger- At $9,700 on DraftKings and $9,600 on FanDuel, Clevinger is priced up for a matchup against Colorado. Clevinger hasn’t performed to his talent level in 2020 posting a K/9 of 7.22 and a FIP of 5.07. I think that lack of production has more to deal with a lack of routine than a regression of his talent. Colorado has struggled in 2020 posting a wRC+ of 82 and a K% of 23.1%. Clevinger is in a great spot to get back on track and should have a quality start on today’s slate.

Sixto Sanchez- At $6,200 on DraftKings and $9,000 on FanDuel, Sanchez is at varying price points for a matchup against Atlanta. I’m not going to have Sixto on FanDuel but, he is a great play on DraftKings. Sanchez has gotten off to a strong start in his MLB career posting a K/9 of 9 and a FIP of 3.36. Atlanta has been an elite offense but, they have posted a K% of 24.7%. This could be a spot where Sixto gives up a few runs and racks up seven to ten strikeouts. That should be good enough to smash the $6,200 price tag on DraftKings. I’ll have shares on Sanchez on DraftKings.

Stacks

New York Mets- The Mets have a matchup against JJohn Means with an implied run total of 5.8. The Mets have been elite on offense posting a wRC+ of 122 and a wOBA of .349. Means has struggled in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.40 and a FIP of 8.05. The Mets should score early and often in this spot. Focus on Jeff McNeil, Pete Alonso, Michael Conforto, and J.D. Davis.

San Diego Padres- The Padres have a matchup against Chi Chi Gonzalez with an implied run total of 5.56. Gonzelez posted a K/9 of 6.57 and a FIP of 5.65 in 2019 in a season where he bounced between AAA and MLB. The Padres have been an elite offense all season posting a wRC+ of 119 and an ISO of .217. San Diego should have no issues putting up runs in this spot. Focus on Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Mitch Moreland, and Trent Grisham.

Chicago White Sox- The White Sox have a matchup against Joe Musgrove with an implied run total of 5.18. Musgrove has struggled with command in 2020 posting a BB/9 of 5.60 and a HR/9 of 2.04. The White Sox have posted a wRC+ of 119 and an ISO of .208. Free baserunners will give this lineup more opportunities to put up crooked numbers. Focus on Tim Anderson, Luis Robert, Jose Abreu, and Yasmani Grandal.
