MLB Picks and Advice 8-23

Cash Plays
SP
Carlos Carrasco- At $10,500 on DraftKings and $9,300 on FanDuel, Carrasco is priced up for a matchup against Detroit. Detroit has struck out at a league-high 28% clip and Carrasco has posted a K/9 of 11.81 in 2020. Carrasco is a high floor play that I’ll be tossing into my cash lineups.
Frankie Montas- At $9,300 on DraftKings and $8,200 on FanDuel, Montas is reasonably priced for a matchup against the Angels. Montas is coming off a terrible start where he only lasted 1 2/3 innings and gave up 9 earned runs. Montas only gave up 1 earned run over 14 innings pitched in his prior two starts. I’m looking for Montas to get back on track in this spot and provide a high floor.
Hitters
Boston Red Sox- The Red Sox have a matchup against Wade LeBlanc with an implied run total of 5.38. Leblanc has been below average in 2020 posting a K/9 of 5.4 and a FIP of 6.08. I expect Boston to score early and often in this spot. Focus on Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez, Rafael Devers, and Mitch Moreland.
Los Angeles Dodgers- The Dodgers have a matchup against Antonio Senzatela with an implied run total of 5.75. Senzatela has been good this season but, I’ll lean on the consistent offense and huge total. Focus on Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, and Max Muncy.

GPP Plays
SP
Dylan Bundy- At $10,000 on DraftKings and $9,100 on FanDuel, Bundy is priced up for a matchup against Oakland. Bundy has been elite in 2020 posting a K/9 of 10.47 and a FIP of 3.63. Bundy is coming off a rough start where he only lasted 4 innings and gave up 4 earned runs. I’m anticipating low ownership due to recency bias and a 4.79 implied run total. I’ll have Bundy in tournaments.
Corbin Burnes- At $7,400 on DraftKings and $7,300 on FanDuel, Burnes is at a favorable price point against Pittsburgh. Burnes has been stellar in 2020 posting a K/9 12.43 and a FIP of 3.32. I’m going to attack one of the worst offenses in baseball in this spot. I’ll have Burnes in tournaments.
Stacks
Baltimore Orioles- The Orioles have a date with Zack Godley with an implied run total of 5.12. The Orioles have posted a wRC+ of 107 in 2020 and always seem to fly under the radar because they’re the Orioles. Focus on Anthony Santander, Hanser Alberto, Renato Nunez, and Pedro Severino.
San Francisco Giants- The Giants have a matchup against Luke Weaver with an implied run total of 4.64. Weaver has struggled in 2020 posting a FIP of 7.03 and the Giants always seem to fly under the radar. Focus on Mike Yastrzemski, Alex Dickerson, Donovan Solano, and Brandon Belt.
