MLB Top Stacks (Quick Overview)

Happy Monday everyone! Today we have a medium sized 8 game slate on Draftkings and a 6 game slate on Fanduel. The DK slate starts at 6:40pm eastern time while the FD slate starts at the normal 7:05pm eastern time. Currently we have the Cardinals in the #1 spot as they take on the Reds RHP Chase Anderson. They will be ab popular option today in a good matchup, but will they stay #1 ?

Stay tuned as this sheet will update as lineups get announced later in the day.

Cardinals vs Reds RHP Chase Anderson

The Reds just signed veteran right hander Chase Anderson to a minor league contract and he’ll get the start today vs one of the best teams in the NL (good luck). Anderson has not pitched this year in the Majors. Since 2019 he has a 6.94 era and has pitched 81 1/3 innings in the majors. In those 80+ innings he has allowed 16 home runs. In the 2021 season he faced 107 left handed hitters and 108 right handed hitters. He struggled mightily vs righties, allowing a 437 woba and a 316 iso.

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado are the top two bats I want exposure to in my Cardinals stacks today. It may be tough to fit them both, but I’ll make sure I have at least 1 of them in every Cardinals stack I build today. MVP frontrunner Paul Goldschmidt 403 woba and a 254 iso vs righties this season

Lars Nootbaar has been on fire this year against right handed pitchers. Coming into today’s matchup he has a 373 woba 247 iso against righties

Brewers vs Pirates RHP Robert Stephenson

This season Robert Stephenson has really struggled, well, he struggled last year as well, but not as bad as this year. So far in 2022 he has a 5.44 xfip and only a 18.9% strikeout rate. He’s been roughed up by left handed hitters regularly, allowing a 349 woba 224 iso 49% fly ball rate and a 51% hard contact rate. Against righties, he has been equally bad, allowing a 341 woba 219 iso 45% fly ball rate and 49% hard contact rate

Over the last 30 days this Brewers lineup has crushed right handed pitching. The woba/iso numbers over the last 30 days vs righties is pretty eye opening

Christian Yelich 383/172
Willy Adames 327/284
Hunter Renfroe 312/279
Kolten Wong 362/196
Rowdy Tellez 368/316

Willy Adames has a a 490 xwoba vs righties this season, while Hunter Renfroe has a 461 xwoba. It’s really hard to single out just one Brewer here today, so, you might as well play them all
🤪

Are you ready to dominate?

The MLB Study Hub is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily.

Within the Study Hub you will see today’s MLB Projections for every player along with advanced MLB Statistics like wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher.

Ownership Projections are included, along with a letter grade ranking system for every player on the slate.

Yankees vs Angels LHP Jose Suarez

The left handed Angles starter Jose Suarez has not been terrible this year, but, this matchup is awful for him today vs the Yankees. This season Suarez has a 4.89 xfip and a 22.5% strikeout rate. Against right handed hitters, he has allowed a 163 iso 43% fly ball rate and 40% hard contact rate this season

Aaron Judge has a 412 woba 383 iso and 54% hard contact rate against left handed pitching this season. Gleybar Torres has a 353 woba 282 iso and 44% hard contact rate vs righties. Josh Donaldson, Jose Trevino, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ Lemahieu are all viable right handed options here today.

I’m expecting the Yankees to rough up Suarez tonight, and Aaron Judge is my top option here (shocking I know). If you want to get a little different with Yankee stacks, stack the bottom of the order with Jose Trevino, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Oswaldo Cabrera 7,8,9, just a thought.

Rankings Today

These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.

Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
