Top Stacks Monday August 24th
Today’s MLB Slate is a small one, only 7 games but we’ve got a few teams that are really standing out above the rest as far as Stacking options today.
Our #1 projected stack of the day on both Fanduel and Draftkings is Arizona vs Rockies right hander Ryan Castellani. We’re working off a small sample with Castellani, but so far, he’s been pretty awful. On the year he has allowed a 349 woba and 344 iso to right handed hitters, while also allowing a 46% fly ball rate and a 53% hard contact rate. Starling Marte and Christian Walker is where I’ll be starting most of my Diamondbacks stacks tonight.
You can mix in the top of the order hitters like Kole Calhoun and Ketel Marte to complete your full stacks if you chose. They’ll both bat left handed against the right handed Castellani, but, if the D’Backs go off, they should be contributing as well.
This stack will NOT be a sneaky one today as we have the D’Backs projected to be one of the higher owned stacks of the night. That being said I think they’ll be fine targets for your cash games, and in Tourneys you can sprinkle them in with some other top projected lower owned stacks below.
Top Tourney Stacks
For Tourneys, if you’re looking for some top ranked, lower owned stacks, you can look at the Tigers, Cardinals and Reds, as the all fall below the top two owned teams in the D’Backs and the Cubs.
The 3 man Tigers stack of Reyes, Candelario and Goodrum will fit nicely with several other stack options tonight. The Tigers matchup vs Alec Mills is a good one, as he has allowed a 365 woba, 187 iso to left handed hitters dating back to 2019. He’s been really good against right handers with a 29% strikeout rate so this is definitely a GPP stack option tonight.
“Milly Maker” Dart throw
Large field tourney play only, because I know they’ve got the talent but the matchup is tough.
Brewers lefties vs Reds RHP Trevor Bauer. Dating back to 2019 Bauer has struggled vs lefties, giving up a 329 woba, 220 iso, 42% fly ball rate and 41% hard contact rate. Christian Yelich and Justin Smoak could take him deep tonight and they will be virtually unowned across the industry.
That’s all I’ve got for tonight, hopefully these notes can help you take down some massive tourneys
