MLB Top Stacks Tuesday 8-23-22
Welcome back, everyone! This MLB Top Stacks article will be a daily Article here at Team Rise or Fall, where I will do my best to highlight my favorite stacks of each day for Fanduel and Draftkings. At the end of the article, below my favorite stacks, I will also list our Top Ranked Players at each position from our MLB Rankings Page.

We have a massive 15 game Tuesday MLB Slate today. These stack rankings are from the early MLB Hub Update around 7:30am so keep an eye on Official lineups as they come in later today as these rankings will surely change.
Currently, the Blue Jays, Braves and Rockies are ranking as the Top 3 stacks. The Rockies at home in Coors Field is pretty obvious as they’ll get that home field hitting boost. For the purpose of this article, I’ll be avoiding the teams in the Coors Field game as you don’t need me to tell you that hitters in Coors Field are “good plays”
Blue Jays vs Red Sox RHP Josh Winckowski
Since the start of the 2021 season Josh Winckowski has a 5.29 xfip and just a 13.5% strikeout rate. Against left handed hitters he has allowed a 366 woba 221 iso and a 40% hard contact rate while only striking out 12.3% of the left handed hitters he has faced. Against right handed hitters, he is only slightly better, allowing a 333 woba and a 168 iso while striking out 14.7% of batters
George Springer has a 365 woba 260 iso and 40% hard contact rate against right handed pitching dating back to the start of the 2021 season. Over the last 30 days Springer has a 407 woba and on batted balls he has produced an average exit velocity over 95mph 66% of the time.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has always crushed right handed pitching and this season is no different. This season Vlad has a 363 woba 229 iso and 43% hard contact rate vs righties. Over the last 30 days he has a 402 woba 268 iso and 47% hard contact rate. Look for Vlad to go yard tonight vs Winckowski
You can mix in the other Blue Jays however you see fit, they are all good plays in this matchup tonight. Lourdes Gurriel, Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez, Bo Bichette and Matt Chapman all have upside here. Is that the whole lineup? Damn, it looks like it may be *shrug*
Diamondbacks vs Royals RHP Jonathan Heasley
Since the start of the 2021 season Jonathan Heasley has a 5.96 xfip with only a 15.4% strikeout rate. While this Diamondbacks lineup is not great, they get a fantastic matchup here tonight.
Against left handed hitters, Heasley has allowed a 380 woba 297 iso 41% fly ball rate and 43% hard contact rate dating back to the start of the 2021 season. In that same time frame, against right handed hitters he has allowed a 340 woba 180 iso 39% fly ball rate and 49% hard contact rate.
Over the last 30 days Emmanuel Rivera has been smashing right handers to the tune of a 361 woba 314 iso 40% hard contact rate. Christian Walker in that same time span has a 347 woba 250 iso and a 47% hard contact rate. Mix and match these guys with Josh Rojas, Ketel Marte and Jake McCarthy in your D’Backs stacks this evening.

Braves vs Pirates RHP JT Brubaker
The Braves let us down yesterday, but I’m going right back to them in this matchup vs right hander JT Brubaker. This season Brubaker has been hit or miss, but, overall he has struggled vs left handed hitters, allowing a 343 woba 216 iso 39% fly ball rate and 42% hard contact rate
Matt Olson is the left handed hitter on the Braves that sticks out to me in this matchup. He comes into today’s game with a 367 woba 251 iso and 44% hard contact rate against right handed pitchers this season.
Michael Harris is another left handed Braves hitter we can target here. On the year he’s slashed a 363 woba 251 iso and 47% hard contact rate against right handed pitchers
The rest of the Braves are clearly in play as well, even if they are right handers. They are simply too good to ignore and we have to believe they’ll come through more times than not for us. Feel free to load up on Ronald Acuna Jr., Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley and William Contreras as much as you’d like in this matchup.
Mariners vs Nationals RHP Erick Fedde
We don’t normally target the Mariners bats, but, this matchup tonight is too good to ignore. Since the start of the 2021 season Erick Fedde has a 4.82 xfip and only a 19.7% strikeout rate. Against left handed hitters he’s really struggled allowing a 349 woba 194 iso and a 41% hard contact rate. Against right handers he hasn’t been much better allowing a 333 woba 167 iso and 39% hard contact rate
Jesse Winker sticks out to me in this matchup, dating back to the 2021 season Winker has a 380 woba 222 iso and 40% hard contact rate against right handed pitchers
Julio Rodriguez has a very solid 343 woba 207 iso and 44% hard contact rate against right handed pitchers, but also a pretty high 25% strikeout rate so it’s boom or bust with him
Top to bottom this Mariners lineup is not great, but the matchup is a great one tonight. On a slate with 30 teams playing, I think they’ll be super sneaky and a solid late night hammer

These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.
Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
