MLB Top Stacks Early (Quick Overview)

No surprise here, Coors Field ranks as the top stacks on this early 6 games. Currently the Coors Field game between the Rockies and Rangers has a run total 3 full runs higher than the next highest game on the slate.

As much as I hate attacking hitters in Coors, due to their inflated ownership, I’m not if we’ll be able to avoid them today on this 6 game early slate

Rangers vs Rockies RHP Jose Urena

The Rangers get a juicy matchup in Coors Field today against right handed pitcher Jose Urena. Dating back to the start of the 2021 season, Urena has a 5.19 xfip and only a 13.5% strikeout rate. Against left handed hitters he has allowed a 377 woba 163 iso 46% hard contact rate and only has a 9.3% strikeout rate.

Against right handed hitters, Urena is slightly better but still not great. Since 2021 he has allowed a 166 iso 38% hard contact rate and has an 18% strikeout rate, which isn’t great, but, it’s double the strikeout rate he has vs lefties

Corey Seager is our top target in this Rangers lineup today. Seager will bat left handed, and, against right handed pitchers since 2021 he has a 458 xwoba 205 iso and 47% hard contact rate while only striking out 15% of the time across 675 at bats

Nathaniel Lowe is another left handed Rangers bat we can target here. Over the last 30 days he’s been smashing right handed pitchers with a 438 xwoba 217 iso and 42% hard contact rate.

Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia, Jonah Heim and Kole Calhoun round out my favorite Rangers in this lineup today. Truthfully though, with the highest run total on the slate by more than a full run, you can “PLAY WHOEVER YOU WANT” in this lineup today

Braves vs Pirates RHP Mitch Keller

Pirates right handed pitcher Mitch Keller has just been “meh” since the start of the 2021 season. He has a 4.88 xfip and a 19% strikeout rate over the last two years. Against left handed hitters he has allowed a 362 woba 126 iso 40% hard contact rate and only a 14% strikeout rate. Against right handed hitters, he has a better strikeout rate of 23% but the rest of the numbers are just mediocre. He’s allowed a 342 woba 156 iso and 44% hard contact rate vs right handers since the start of the 2021 season

The biggest issue with full stacking the Braves is their high strikeout rate. Against a pitcher like Mitch Keller and his low strikeout rate, I’m not too concerned with that today. Ronald Acuna Jr. has a 365 woba 210 iso and 44% hard contact rate againt right handed pitchers dating back to the start of the 2021 season.

Austin Riley has a 371 woba 243 iso and 45% hard contact rate vs righties since 2021. Matt Olson is a left handed batter we can target here, and since 2021 he has smashed right handed pitchers to the tune of a 366 woba 250 iso and 44% hard contact rate

Michael Harris and William Contreras are two other Braves I’ll be targeting on this short 6 game early slate today

Mariners vs Nationals RHP Anibal Sanchez

I mentioned yesterday that we don’t target Mariners bats too often and they went out and scored 4 runs last night. Not great but not terrible for us. Today they get another juicy matchup against Nationals right hander Anibal Sanchez

Dating back to the start of the 2021 season Anibal Sanchez has a 6.00 xfip and a 17% strikeout rate. Against right handed pitchers he’s really struggled allowing a 464 woba 344 iso 48% fly ball rate and 49% hard contact rate while only striking out 14.3% of the right handers he has faced.

Julio Rodriguez burst onto the scene during this years MLB HR Derby, but, if you had been paying attention, you would have known about him well before that. This season he has a 439 xwoba 204 iso and 44% hard contact rate against right handed pitching and this is a prime spot for him to go deep today

Mitch Haniger recently came off a long DL stint and he’s picked up right where he left off prior. This season against right handed pitching Haniger has a 506 xwoba 254 iso and 37% hard contact rate against right handed pitching.

Jesse Winker is a left handed hitter but he’s been hot against right handed pitchers recently. Over the last 30 days Winker has a 568 xwoba 233 iso and 43% hard contact rate against right handed pitchers

Batter Rankings Today

These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.

Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
