MLB Top Stacks 8-18-22 Early Slate
Welcome back, everyone! This MLB Top Stacks article will be a daily Article here at Team Rise or Fall, where I will do my best to highlight my favorite stacks of each day for Fanduel and Draftkings. At the end of the article, below my favorite stacks, I will also list our Top Ranked Players at each position from our MLB Rankings Page.

Above you’ll see our DK Stack rankings from the early morning update of the MLB Study Hub. As you can see, we updated so early this morning we didn’t have any Vegas lines populating.
The good news is, we don’t soley base our Projections and Ratings on the Vegas info. That being said, we can see that the Dogers are ranked as the Top stack of the Early slate today.
If you look at the DK RATING column, you can see there is a large gap between them and the next closest team in the Cubs. The Dodgers have a tough matchup against Corbin Burnes, so more than likely, when the Vegas data comes in and starting lineups start to get announced we’ll see these ratings get adjusted.
Cardinals vs RHP Antonio Senzatela
The Cards get a matchup with Antonio Senzatela today. So far this season, Senzatela has been pretty awful against right handed hitters, allowing a 394 woba, 186 iso and a 47% hard contact rate.
He throws his fastball around 56% of the time to righties, and he gives up a 492 xwoba and 286 iso with a 46% hard contact rate to opposing right handed hitters
The Cardinals have 2 of the best right handed hitters in the game today in Paul Goldscmidt and Nolan Arenado. These two will be my primary targets in any Cardinals stack I run on this early slate
Astros vs LHP Lucas Giolito
Lucas Giolito has been very inconsistent all season. Overall he has really struggled against right handed hitters this year, allowing a 396 woba 243 iso and 21% k rate. Those numbers pale in comparison to his numbers vs lefties, 283 woba, 114 iso and an elite 32% k rate.
If we’re going to target Giolito, we need to target him with right handed hitters on this early slate. Jose Altuve, Yuli Gurriel and Alex Bregman are the three key pieces I’ll be getting exposure to from this Astros lineup

Cubs vs RHP Spenser Watkins
The Cubs don’t have a great offense, but, they’ve got a great matchup on today’s early slate vs RHP Spenser Watkins. So far this season against right handed hitters, Watkins has allowed a 340 woba 197 iso 50% fly ball rate with only a 14% k rate. Overall he has a 5.51 xfip and gives up 95mph+ exit velocity on batted balls 37% of the time
Right handers on the Cubs that I want to target here are Wilson Contreras and Franmil Reyes. Watkins like to throw his fastball around 40% of the time righties, and he allows a 756 xwoba (yes 756) and a 375 iso. Contreras, vs RHP fastballs, has a 508 xwoba and 205 iso, while Reyes is even better with a 597 xwoba and 349 iso
Dodgers vs RHP Corbin Burnes
Corbin Burnes is not someone we normally pick on as he enters today with a 3.28 xfip and a 32% k rate. However, this Dodgers team has the best lineup in baseball and if we’re looking for a sleeper on a short slate why not give them a look
Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith are projected to be the 1-4 hitters today. Betts, Freeman, Smith all have 200+ ISO vs RHP this season.
I’m not saying Burnes is a bust today, but what I’m saying is if we’re going to take a shot on a stack that could go off, why not stack the best hitting team in all of baseball
Batter Rankings Today
These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.
Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
