New Orleans Saints @ Las Vegas Raiders O/U 48.5 NO -5
New Orleans Saints
This is a relatively close spread considering that the Raiders gave up 30 points to Carolina last week. However, Michael Thomas is out for this contest which is probably why the line is closer than it probably would be. The Saints are going up against a Raiders defense that ranked 31st in pass defense efficiency and 20th in run defense efficiency in 2019. I expect the Saints to set the tone with the running game early with both Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. If you think Vegas takes a commanding lead, Murray is likely out of play. Kamara is a prime Captain/MVP target on both sites. I would only have Murray at MVP in FanDuel contests that are large field MME contests.
For the passing game, I’m stacking Drew Brees with Jared Cook, Emmanuel Sanders, and Tre’Quan Smith. I’ll have much more exposure to Sanders and Cook than Smith. Brees is a great play at the MVP spot on FanDuel. I don’t expect the Saints passing game to struggle in this spot. For Captain on DraftKings, I’ll have Smith as a dart play in large field MME contests. Cook and Sanders look like they are high floor Captain targets.

Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders are going up against a New Orleans defense that ranked 10th in pass defense efficiency and 5th in run defense efficiency in 2019. In the running game, Josh Jacobs is who I’m targeting. Assuming the game stays close, Jacobs is going to get the bulk of the Raiders’ carries. If you think this game stays close, Toss him in the MVP/Captain spot on DraftKings and FanDuel. It’s possible that Jacobs gets work in the passing game but, I wouldn’t read too much into the 6 targets he got last week against Carolina.
In the passing game, I’m stacking Derek Carr with Henry Ruggs, Darren Waller, and Hunter Renfrow. Assuming Ruggs is active, he has the highest ceiling of the Raiders’ pass catchers. Ruggs has the big play ability similar to a John Ross or Odell Beckham Jr. Waller was Carr’s favorite target last season and was the recipient of 8 targets last week. I expect Waller and Ruggs to get the bulk of the looks in the passing game. Renfrow makes sense if you think New Orleans keys in on both Ruggs and Waller. I prefer having Ruggs and Waller in the Captain spot on DraftKings due to the high upside.
See ya in discord,
