NBA DFS INJURIES AND ROTATIONS FOR 8-13 | DRAFTKINGS AND FANDUEL
I’d want to target Memphis, Portland, and Phoenix players first and foremost and then build in whatever spots are left with best minutes and value. Oh, and side note…We are on Boban Marjanovic watch. If he starts, we begrudingly have to acknowledge his Hall of Fame upside 🙂
MIL vs MEM
Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, and Dillon Brooks will all play solid minutes here as Memphis continue to be in must win situations. They are all cash viable if you’re a maniac and playing cash games today.
Guys like Brandon Clarke, Kyle Anderson are both going to get minutes, too. They are fine for MME options but that’s about it for me.
On the Bucks side, yuck. Guys like Sterling Brown and Frank Mason are GPP punts and should get solid minutes with the Bucks not playing starters for very long and both George Hill and Giannis Antetokounmpo both out. Sterling is my favorite out of the Bucks today if forced to choose. If Ersan ends up being out, then DJ Wilson might pick up more minutes but man they are running a very flat rotation right now.
DAL vs PHO
Porzingis is out and Luka Doncic is the go to guy here today. I have no problem paying up for him either. I’ll take some Tim Hardaway Jr., Dorian Finner-Smith, and potentially some Maxi Kleber and Seth Curry in large MME tournaments.
Phoenix is looking to go 8-0 in Bubble Ball as they are making their push for the play-in tournament. Give me all the Devin Booker as he’s clearly just doing what Alpha’s do on the court and channeling his inner-Damian Lillard. He’s playing heavy minutes, scoring at will, and balling out to carry his team to the tournament. Outside of him, I’d want exposure to the regular pieces due to their strong minutes like Deandre Ayton, Ricky Rubio, Mikal Bridges, and potentially Cameron Johnson and Dario Saric in large tournaments.
SAS vs UTA
Derrick White is my favorite Spurs player today. I’ll want exposure to both DeMar Derozan and Dejounte Murray as well. The only other tournament option I see worth looking at would be Lonnie Walker. You might get away with Keldon Johnson in MME, too.
The Jazz will have a flat rotation today with nobody really playing a ton. No thanks. I don’t mind punting a bit on both Emmanuel Mudiay and Tony Bradley who should get minutes with both Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley. Both of them are pretty darn awesome value options who can rack up fantasy points in a hurry and if they play close to 30 minutes, watch out.
NOP vs ORL
Pelicans said no thanks. The Walking Dead are running flat minutes even on all of their backups. What a disaster for DFS. I would not be shocked to see both Derrick Favors and Josh Hart sit this one out, too. If that happens, I’d want exposure to ETwaun Moore, Nicolo Melli, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jaxson Hayes, and Frank Jackson. Otherwise, meh. Go elsewhere.
Magic continue to shatter dreams for DFS players. That said a few value pieces exist here. Wesley Iwundu, DJ Augustin, Markeelle Fultz, and potentially Gary Clark could all provide value with upper-20’s minutes and low price points.
BKN vs POR
Hard to trust anybody on Brooklyn and they are basically stay away pieces for me. Potentially you can target Caris LeVert in MME but honestly, I just worry about minutes for all of these players. I’m planting my flag elsewhere.
Give me Portland and lots and lots of minutes. I want exposure to this entire group from Portland: Damian Lillard (second favorite option behind Devin Booker and starting every lineup with the two of them if I can), CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony, Gary Trent Jr. and Jusuf Nurkic.
Minutes galore and a great matchup to boot.
