NBA DFS Risers Playbook for Draftkings and FanDuel 12-22
Hello and welcome to the first edition of the Team Rise or Fall NBA DFS Risers Playbook for DraftKings and FanDuel for the 2021 NBA season. The NBA is teasing us with a small two gates slate on opening night where the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers face the rival Clippers. The other game pits Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets against his former team, the Golden State Warriors. As with all small slates, don’t go overboard with volume, play within your bankroll, and wait for the full slate of games coming on Wednesday.

In review of the Team Rise or Fall NBA Study Hub, Anthony Davis projects as the second-highest scorer on both DraftKings and FanDuel trailing only LeBron James. You could easily slot James into this spot but as he enters season 18, I can’t imagine Lakers coach Frank Vogel leaning heavily on LBJ come game one of the regular season.
Davis averaged 34.4 minutes per game last season while averaging 1.35 FD/1.34 DK points per minute. I especially love the defensive upside Davis offers on FanDuel since they scores blocks and steals at three points each.
To fit those high-priced studs into your lineup you need to find value and that is exactly what Harrell provides on both sites. He projects as a top-six value per dollar on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you’re into narratives, this will be the first time he’ll face his former team in regular-season action so I would imagine that will also light a fire inside him.
The reigning sixth man of the year will take on the same role for the Lakers. The NBA Study Hub projects Harrell for a little over 24 minutes while averaging 1.11 FD and 1.10 DK points per minute.
The ageless wonder. The NBA has never seen someone of LeBron’s physical prowess before and possibly never will. The longevity he’s shown is absolutely amazing. As I mentioned before LeBron is entering his 18th season. We know the grueling NBA season is a marathon, not a sprint. I don’t imagine LBJ playing 40+ minutes but, anytime he is on the court, he’s a threat to put up a triple-double.
The NBA Study Hub projects his ceiling as the highest on DraftKings and second-highest on FanDuel. He’ll garner high ownership, but then again, on a two-game slate, most of the stars will.
Paschall is my value option in tournaments. Draymond Green is expected to miss tomorrow’s opener and I’m expecting Pascall to fill in for him like he did last season. Paschall is the best value per dollar on DraftKings in our NBA Study Hub but isn’t quite as good on FanDuel ranking as the tenth best value. The Warriors are in a pace up matchup and will have to score to keep up with Brooklyn’s potent duo of Durant and Kyrie.
