NBA DFS Top Plays for Monday 02/06/23

Giannis Antetokounmpo DK $12,100 DraftKings – FD $12,200

Giannis is a must-have for any cash game lineup on Monday. The Greek Freak has put up impressive numbers all season, averaging 59 DraftKings points per game and scoring at least 40 points in all but two games. His recent form is even better, with four of his last five games exceeding 71 fantasy points. In his previous encounter against the Trail Blazers, he dominated with 37 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

With all the salary we are saving, it’s essential to spend big on Giannis, who meets all the criteria for an excellent play tonight. He is on a tremendous run, coming off a triple-double and averaging 41.2 points and 15.2 rebounds in his last six games. In each of these games, he scored over 60 fantasy points and averaged over 70. The Bucks’ game against Portland boasts the highest total on the slate (239.5) and the Trail Blazers are ranked 27th in defense. Giannis is our top projection for the night and a must-play in all formats.

Warriors without Steph

Jordan Poole DK $6,200 – FD $7,400

Jordan Poole is expected to step up for the Golden State Warriors as their star player, Stephen Curry, is out with an injury. With Curry off the floor, Poole has taken on a larger role as the team’s primary ball-handler and shot taker, with a usage rate of 35%. He has shown his worth in the starting lineup, averaging 28.1 points on 21.3 shots per game and putting up over 38 fantasy points in 15 games without Curry. With a favorable matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards, Poole is a must-have in all fantasy formats, especially on DraftKings with his lower price tag.

Klay Thompson DK $7,000 – FD – $7,600

Klay Thompson is also expected to pick up the slack for the Warriors with the absence of Stephen Curry. Despite two underperforming games, Thompson has still shown his ability to score and put up big fantasy numbers, averaging 22 shots per game and over 40 fantasy points in his previous 13 games before the recent dip in performance. With the high-scoring potential in this game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have a 237-point game total, Thompson is a great option for all fantasy formats and could potentially bounce back with a big game.

Draymond Green DK $6,400 – FD $7,400

Draymond Green is another Warrior set to benefit from the absence of Stephen Curry, and he has already been producing solid fantasy numbers over the past 11 games, averaging over 35 fantasy points and shooting at an impressive 53.6% success rate. He had a strong performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder just last Monday, putting up 38.8 fantasy points. With Curry off the floor, Green has been averaging 33 fantasy points per 36 minutes and the Thunder have a favorable matchup, allowing the sixth-highest offensive efficiency rating to power forwards and over 47 fantasy points per game to the position. With their tendency to give up a lot of rebounds on the road, Green is a great option for fantasy players in all formats, especially with his mid-range price tag on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Nikola Vucevic DK $9,100 – FD $8,300

Vucevic has been a key player in cash games over the past month, consistently delivering strong performances. In the last 16 games, he has scored at least 40 DraftKings points 15 times, averaging close to 50 fantasy points per game. This trend is expected to continue against the Spurs, who are ranked last in points allowed and defensive efficiency and also surrender the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers.

The Bulls have the best matchup on the slate, facing a Spurs team that is ranked last in defensive efficiency and also one of only three teams ranked outside the top 25 in fantasy points against all positions. If you are looking to build a cash lineup, Vucevic should be your go-to player. He has been highly consistent, scoring over 40 fantasy points in 17 of the last 19 games, while averaging a double-double of 19.4 points and 12.8 rebounds. Vucevic is an elite option in all formats.

Jalen Green DK $6,900 –  FD $6,800

Jalen Green is a talented young guard for the Houston Rockets and with Kevin Porter Jr. out due to injury, Green is expected to step up as the primary scoring threat for the team. In the absence of KPJ this season, Green has been operating with a 31% usage rate, making him a valuable addition to your DFS lineups.

He was in good form before his recent injury, putting up an average of 34 DraftKings points per game across his previous 24 outings. The Rockets will be facing off against the Sacramento Kings, who are ranked 22nd in defensive efficiency, making Green a confident pick for fantasy players. With Porter’s absence, Green has shown his potential, averaging 22.5 points and 4.0 assists per game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander DK $10,700 – FD $10,400

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a player that has been making headlines all season with his impressive play and MVP-worthy stats. Currently playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, SGA has recently shown off his skills by scoring 66 DraftKings and 70.8 FanDuel points against the Houston Rockets. He now faces a Golden State Warriors team that is already facing challenges in the backcourt with the absence of Stephen Curry, who is expected to be out for an extended period.

Golden State is vulnerable to point guards, ranking fourth in defensive efficiency ratings for the position and giving up over 50 fantasy points per game to the position on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Recently, the team has been even more generous, surrendering over 58 DraftKings and 56 FanDuel points per game to point guards in the last seven games. Additionally, the Warriors are giving up an average of 27.7 assists per game over the last three games.

SGA is averaging an impressive 31.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game this season, and has had at least 50 DraftKings points in six of his last ten games. He is a player to watch in this game against the Warriors, who give up the league’s second-most points per game to point guards, and will likely continue his impressive play.
