NBA DFS Top Plays for Saturday 01/28/23

Spencer Dinwiddie FD – $8000 DK – $7400

Spencer Dinwiddie, who is priced at $8000 on FanDuel and $7400 on DraftKings, is set to become a major beneficiary with superstar Luka Doncic expected to miss at least one game due to an ankle injury. In the last game when Doncic was injured, Dinwiddie put on a fantastic performance, collecting 36 points, six rebounds, and nine assists.

Even with Luka in the lineup, Dinwiddie has provided a solid fantasy floor, averaging just over 37 DK points over his last 10 games. With Luka out, in a matchup against Utah’s 26th-ranked defense, Dinwiddie is a must-have in all fantasy formats.

Deandre Ayton (FD $7,700 – DK $7,600)

Deandre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns are heading to San Antonio to take on the struggling Spurs. The Spurs are currently sitting near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and pace, making them an ideal opponent for Ayton to exploit. In the last two games, Ayton has been on fire, scoring over 49 DraftKings Points in both and over 40 DK Points in five of the last seven games. The Spurs will also be without one of their key frontcourt players, Jakob Poeltl, who has been limited as the team looks to move him.

Ayton has been showing signs of dominance in recent weeks, scoring at least 37 Yahoo Fantasy Points (YFP) in five of his last seven games, including back-to-back games with 46 or more YFP. With Devin Booker for awhile, Ayton is expected to continue his strong performance. The matchup against the Spurs, who rank dead-last in both points allowed and defensive efficiency, is the perfect opportunity for Ayton to shine.

Anthony Edwards (FD $9,300, DK $9,400)

Anthony Edwards continues to see increased usage while Karl-Anthony Towns is out, averaging 47.9 FD points in his last eight games. He’s a great value at his current price, needing only 47 DK points to reach 5x value. He’s been reaching or exceeding that number in four straight games, including a 71 DK point performance against the Rockets a week ago. Edwards is taking a step forward in his career, with career-high averages across the board, including a 30.8% usage rate and 1.26 FPTS/min.

He’s in a great matchup against the fast-paced and defensively deficient Kings, in a game with the highest implied total at 238 points. The Kings give up the most fantasy points per game to the small forward position, which makes Edwards an excellent play tonight.

Jaylen Brown (FD $8,400 – DK $9,200)

Jaylen Brown has an excellent chance to succeed against the Lakers’ 21st-ranked Defensive Efficiency Rating of 112.2 and their fast-paced game, with a pace of 104.2 (1st in the league). Brown is projected to have a high minute count (35 minutes) and he has an elite-level usage rate of 31.4%. Additionally, the Celtics have a high implied team total of 122.25 points, making them a popular pick for fantasy players. With the Celtics having lost three games in a row, Brown will likely be looking to step up and make a big impact in this matchup.

He has been averaging 25.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists over his last 10 appearances and has already recorded a high of 60 DK points. Brown should be able to take advantage of their undersized and shorthanded backcourt, as he previously recorded 58.3 DK points in his last meeting with them.

Alperen Sengün (FD $8,400, DK $8,800)

Alperen Sengün’s fantasy prices have risen quickly, but there is still value to be found, particularly in a matchup against the Pistons’ poor defense. Sengün has been providing strong numbers across the board, averaging 22 points, 11.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 3.3 block+steals over his last six games. With both Porter and Green out, Sengün’s usage rate and FPTS/min rate have significantly increased.

He has been making the most of his increased playing time, recording at least 54 DK points in three of five games, including a 70.25 DK point outburst against the Lakers. The Pistons have also been particularly susceptible to opposing centers in recent games, making Sengün a solid choice in all formats.

That concludes our NBA Top Plays for tonight’s slate. Remember to keep an eye on injury updates and lineup changes leading up to tip-off. As always, make sure to do your own research and make the final call on who you believe will perform best. Good luck and happy building!
