NBA DFS Top Plays for Thursday 01/26/23

DraftKings NBA DFS Top Plays featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James"

Welcome to our NBA Top Plays DFS article, where we highlight the best daily fantasy basketball options for the upcoming slate of games. With so many players to choose from, it can be difficult to narrow down your lineup. That’s where we come in, providing expert analysis and key statistics to help you make informed decisions

NBA DFS Top Plays for Thursday 01/26/23

Darius Garland FD $8,400, DK $8,600

Darius Garland is a strong fantasy option for Thursday’s game against the Houston Rockets. His teammate Donovan Mitchell is questionable for the game due to a recent aggravation of his groin injury, and if he sits, Garland is expected to step up and perform well. In the three games that Mitchell has missed recently, Garland has scored 21 or more points in each game, recorded double-doubles in two of the three games, and scored 45 or more fantasy points in each game.

Garland has been consistently productive regardless of Mitchell’s presence in the lineup, but his performance is particularly noteworthy when Mitchell is out. Houston’s defense is also poor, ranked 28th in defensive efficiency and allowing the most fantasy points to opposing point guards, which bodes well for Garland’s performance.

Nikola Vucevic FD $8,400, DK $9,000

Nikola Vucevic is an elite play for tonight’s slate as he faces off against the Charlotte Hornets. With the Hornets ranking 27th in defense and playing at a top 10 pace, this matchup is primed for Vucevic to succeed. He has been extremely consistent over the past 14 games, averaging a double-double with 19.1 points and 13.1 rebounds while providing at least 40 DK points in 13 of those 14 games.

Vucevic’s reliability and consistency make him an excellent option in all formats, especially given the high total in this game. Not only that, the Hornets have been giving up the most fantasy points to opposing centers this year. Vucevic is a high-ceiling option, with the potential to grab a rebound per minute

Kawhi LeonardKawhi Leonard FD $9,500, DK $10,000

Kawhi Leonard is back to his All-Star form after a slow start to the season. The forward has played at least 32 minutes in each of his last eight games, averaging 24 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He is also averaging nearly 50 fantasy points per game during this stretch.

Leonard is a solid play in all formats as he faces off against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are known for their fast-paced offense, but they also have the worst defensive rating in the league, making Leonard’s floor and upside high in this matchup. He has already proven he can produce in this matchup, scoring 57 DraftKings points when they faced off last week.

Kyrie Irving FD $10,100, DK $10,300

Kyrie Irving is one of the most electrifying players in the league and his recent performances have been nothing short of spectacular. With Kevin Durant out of the lineup, Irving has been given the opportunity to take over and he has not disappointed. He has been putting up gaudy numbers and has been one of the most consistent fantasy producers in the league.

Irving has a 36 percent usage rate when Durant is off the floor, which is among the highest in the league. This has translated to an average of 1.5 DraftKings points per minute, making him one of the most efficient players in the league. He has also been scoring at an incredible pace, with at least 62 fantasy points in three straight outings and averaging nearly 70 DraftKings points per game in that span. This makes him an elite play against any team, but especially against a Detroit team that ranks 2nd to last in the league in points allowed and defensive efficiency.

Kyrie has been on a tear in recent games and has been the heart of the Brooklyn offense. He has been scoring at will and has been one of the most reliable fantasy options in the league. He has been playing at an elite level and has been putting up numbers that are comparable to some of the best in the league. This is another great opportunity for him to showcase his skills and put up big numbers against a weak Detroit team.

Irving is coming off a road trip in which he put up more than 60 fantasy points in three straight games and even topped 80 in one of those. He is back at home tonight and will look to continue his scoring streak against the Detroit Pistons. With Kevin Durant out, Irving’s ceiling is as high as anyone’s on the slate. He is an elite play in all formats and should be considered a must-have in your lineups.
