NBA DFS Top Plays for Thursday 3/9/23
Tyrese Haliburton DK $9,800 – FD $10,200
Tyrese Haliburton is a player to watch in Thursday’s NBA DFS games. As the point guard for the Indiana Pacers, he has been lighting up the scoreboard with at least 41 DraftKings points in seven of his last eight games. He has been averaging an impressive 50 points during that span, which is not too far off from his season average of 46 points.
Haliburton has the perfect matchup in Thursday’s game against the Houston Rockets, who rank 29th in defensive efficiency and give up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Both teams have a tendency to play a lax defense, which should lead to a high-scoring game.
He has been averaging a double-double in the second half of the season with 27.6 points and 12.2 assists per game, providing an average of over 55 fantasy points per game. The Rockets have lost five out of their last seven games and rank dead last in fantasy points allowed to the guard position, making Haliburton a top play in all formats for Thursday’s NBA DFS games.

Mikal Bridges DK $8,500 – FD $9,000
Mikal Bridges is a top pick for Thursday’s NBA DFS games. He is playing against the Milwaukee Bucks and is priced at $9,000 on FanDuel and $8,500 on DraftKings. With Spencer Dinwiddie and Cameron Johnson out, Bridges, Seth Curry, and Edmond Sumner will handle the backcourt. While Sumner is a good value play, Bridges is the player to watch as he has been consistently putting up big numbers.
Bridges has at least 43 DraftKings points in three straight games and five out of the last six. His recent performances have played a huge role in the Brooklyn Nets’ success, as they have created a three-game buffer on Miami for the final playoff spot. In his last three games, Bridges has taken 20 or more shots, scored over 30 points, and averaged an impressive 51.7 DraftKings points.
Despite facing a tougher matchup against the Bucks, Bridges should see an increase in usage as he makes his first start with the Nets. This will provide a high fantasy floor for Bridges and make him a great pick in all formats. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add Bridges to your roster for Thursday’s NBA DFS games.

Kelly Oubre Jr. DK $7,500 – FD $8,000
Kelly Oubre Jr. is a top pick for Thursday’s NBA DFS games. He is playing against the Detroit Pistons and is priced at $8,000 on FanDuel and $7,500 on DraftKings. Oubre is one of the key volume shooters on the Charlotte Hornets team, especially with LaMelo Ball out for the season.
Oubre has been consistently excellent since re-joining the Hornets’ starting lineup in March. He has played at least 35 minutes in each of the last four games and has been averaging 18.8 shots per game, resulting in 24.8 points per game. He is also doing well on the boards, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. This has translated to an average of just under 40 fantasy points per game for Oubre.
In his last game against the Pistons back in December, Oubre had a huge game, and while his effort was more pedestrian in his last game with a minutes limit after returning from injury in February, I am expecting another good night from him. The Pistons’ defense is ranked 28th, making this a great matchup for Oubre to produce big numbers. Lock and load him in all formats for Thursday’s NBA DFS games.
Jalen Green DK $6,400 – FD $6,800
The Rockets/Pacers game has a total of 235.5, making it an attractive matchup for DFS players tonight. Jalen Green is a top pick for Thursday’s NBA DFS games and he is priced at $6,800 on FanDuel and $6,400 on DraftKings.
The Rockets will be without Kevin Porter tonight, which means that Jalen Green will be relied upon even more heavily. Despite being a shooting-dependent guard, Green has been consistent over the last month, averaging 33 fantasy points over his last 10 games. This provides a solid floor at his current prices, and he should also provide some upside as he sees a 3-4% bump in usage with Porter off the floor.
Green’s performance is especially impressive considering he had two complete duds in that span. He is a 1.01 DK points per minute player but should see an increase to 1.09 per minute without Porter. For these reasons, Green is a strong play in all formats for Thursday’s NBA DFS games. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add him to your roster.
