NBA DFS Top Plays for Tuesday 02/07/23

“Just a kid from Akron”

LeBron James DK $11,200 – FD $10,300

LeBron James is on the verge of making NBA history as he is just 36 points away from becoming the all-time leading scorer in the league. With two games left to play at home, LeBron is expected to break the record in the upcoming stretch, either tonight against the Thunder or Thursday against the Bucks.

Despite being listed as questionable, LeBron has played through most games this season and has been a consistent force for the Lakers. Averaging 1.46 DKFP per minute, he has scored fewer than 40 DKFP just once this season and has gone for at least 60 DKFP nine times since the start of the year, with a high of 74 DKFP.

The Thunder’s poor defensive record, giving up the fourth-most free throws and an average of 116.4 points per game, makes this an excellent spot for LeBron to break the record and provide a strong return for DFS players.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander DK $10,600 DraftKings – FD $10,600

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the most exciting players in the league and he has been showcasing his skills all season long. The OKC guard has been a fantasy machine, averaging over 50 DraftKings points per game, and reaching at least 41 DK points in 22 of his previous 24 games.

This All-Star is a player to watch for, especially in tonight’s matchup against the Lakers. With the game having the highest total on the slate, this is an opportunity for SGA to light up the scoreboards and put up another big fantasy score. Despite a quieter outing in his last game, Gilgeous-Alexander is still a top fantasy option, as he has the ability to fill up the stat sheet with ease. Expect him to take advantage of the Lakers’ leaky perimeter defense and put up a big performance tonight.

Jaren Jackson Jr. DK $7,300 – FD $7,800

JJJ has been a highly productive player, averaging 35 DraftKings points in just 27 minutes per game. He has been on a hot streak lately, averaging 42 points in the last three games with an average of 35 minutes per game. He has also been a dominant force on the defensive end, recording 15 blocks in his last three games, which coincides with the average number of blocked shots the Bulls give up per game.

JJJ has a chance to be a contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award if he can keep blocking shots at this pace. He has shown great upside, especially on FanDuel, where blocks count for more, and if he can stay on the court for 32+ minutes, his prices are still considered low.

Nuggets Studs

Jamal Murray DK $8,200 – FD $8,300

Jamal Murray has been on a hot streak lately and has been scoring at least 37 DK points in his last nine games. He has been playing at an All-Star level and is facing a favorable matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are ranked fifth in pace and 21st in total defense. In his last game against the Timberwolves, he amassed 41 DK points.

The return of Nikola Jokic ($10,600) could also benefit Murray by drawing more attention from the defense and giving him more room to operate. He has been exceeding points expectations 90% of the time this season and has gone for over 50 DKFP three times in his last seven games with a high of 62.75 DKFP. He should be well-rested for this game after not playing in the previous one.

Nikola Jokic DK $11,600 – FD $11,600

Nikola Jokic is the two-time reigning MVP and a top option for cash games. He’s averaging 26 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 10.1 assists per game, scoring at least 51 fantasy points in all but two games over the last two months. He had a triple-double and 69 DK points in his last game against the T’Wolves and is listed as probable for this upcoming game.

Jokic averages 1.67 DKFP per minute and has the potential for a triple-double in every game. He leads the Nuggets with three triple-doubles on their current homestand and is a threat to triple-double in every game he plays. Jokic remains a dominant force in the fantasy basketball world, despite the emergence of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.
