NBA DFS Top Plays for Wednesday 02/08/23

Jayson Tatum DK $11,200 – FD $11,000

Tatum has been on a roll lately, with five out of the last six games seeing him surpass the 50-point mark in both DraftKings and FanDuel. In his last game, Tatum dominated the Pistons with 60.3 DK/56.2 FD points, following a poor shooting performance against the Suns. He has been putting up impressive numbers with an average of 30.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in this span.

The 76ers could be in for a tough night against Tatum, who has already put up 61 DK/58.4 FD points against them earlier this season. Philadelphia has struggled to contain power forwards, giving up the 11th-highest offensive efficiency rating and 49.6% shooting to the position. The Sixers are also allowing 47+ DK points per game to PFs. Tatum’s performance at home has been great, he has averaged over 30+ points, 9 rebounds and 4+ assists per game at home this season.

Fred VanVleet DK $9,100 – FD $8,900

Fred VanVleet is heating up and his matchup against the Spurs could lead to another explosive performance. Over his last 11 games, the veteran guard has put up at least 41 DraftKings points 10 times and averaged 27.1 points, 7.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. The Spurs’ defense is the worst in the NBA, giving up the most points and ranking last in defensive efficiency.

They also allow the most fantasy points to point guards, including the highest offensive efficiency rating to the position. With San Antonio yielding the fourth-most assists on the road and an NBA-high 42.3% three-point shooting, VanVleet is well-positioned to take advantage and deliver another big outing.

Damian Lillard DK $10,700 – FD $10,000

Damian Lillard, the All-Star point guard of the Portland Trail Blazers, is on fire lately. In 15 out of the past 16 games, Lillard has scored at least 43 DraftKings points, with 10 of those 13 games scoring at least 56 DK points.

His current form is particularly bad news for the Golden State Warriors, who have a 27th-ranked defense against opposing point guards and allow the fourth-most fantasy points to the position. With Jusuf Nurkic out, Lillard is shouldering the majority of the offensive load and is delivering with averages of 37.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.4 assists across his last 14 games.

aThe Warriors, who happen to be Lillard’s childhood team, have struggled to contain him throughout his career with the guard putting up an average of 28.9 points and 6.1 assists in their 32 career matchups.

Domantas Sabonis DK $10,300 – FD $9,500

Domantas Sabonis is one of the top playmaking big men in the NBA and has been playing at an All-Star level recently. Over the last 31 games, he’s scored at least 41 DraftKings points in 28 of them, with an average of 19.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game.

In three matchups with the Houston Rockets this year, Sabonis has been dominant, scoring nearly 60 DK points per game and averaging 20.3 points, 12 rebounds, 11.7 assists, and 1.3 steals. The Rockets have struggled defensively this year, and they are ranked near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and in points allowed. They have been one of the best matchups for NBA DFS players target in recent years. With Sabonis’ recent form and the Rockets’ porous defense, Sabonis is a strong play for fantasy basketball.
