Celtics Value
The Boston Celtics are dealing with multiple injuries, as three of their best players – Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart – are out for today’s game. As a result, the rest of the team will have to step up and take on larger roles, making them potentially good value picks for fantasy basketball.
Grant Williams, Robert Williams III, and Sam Hauser are among the players who could benefit from the increased minutes and opportunities. Hauser, in particular, has seen a boost in playing time and is likely to replace Tatum in the starting lineup. He has posted solid fantasy numbers in his last four games and should continue to see significant playing time despite a tough matchup against the Bucks.
Meanwhile, Grant Williams is fairly reliable on a per-minute basis, with rebounding being one of his strengths. Although he may not have a high ceiling for fantasy production, his low price on DraftKings makes him a reasonable risk. Robert Williams III has also been a consistent performer in recent games, with 15+ rebounds in each of his last three games, and the potential for blocks.
Malcolm Brogdon is another player who stands to benefit from the Celtics’ injuries. With Tatum, Brown, and Smart out, Brogdon should see an increase in usage and could be in a great spot for production. Al Horford and Payton Pritchard are also projected for solid fantasy outputs, and Grant Williams could be another player to consider if he is active.
Torrey Craig, PHO vs. SAC ($4,900)
Craig is coming off a double-double performance and recorded 33.5 DK points in his last game. Over his last five games, he is averaging 6.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Against the Kings, who allow opponents to shoot an average of 49.2% from the field, Craig has a good chance to continue his strong play.
