NBA DFS Top Value Plays for Friday 02/03/23

Kings Value

As the Kings take on the Pacers tonight, the absence of De’Aaron Fox will open up opportunities for some of his teammates. Two players to keep an eye on are Davion Mitchell and Malik Monk.

Davion Mitchell, priced at the minimum on DraftKings and $3800 on FanDuel, is expected to see an increase in minutes as he takes the starting role in place of Fox. Mitchell’s fantasy numbers this season, averaging 5.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, may not be impressive, but his cheap price tag and expected increase in playing time make him a valuable punt play for tonight’s game.

On the other hand, it’s also possible that we see Malik Monk step up in Fox’s absence. Monk has the highest usage rate on the team with Fox off the court, coming in at 29.8%. He has also seen bigger minutes in recent games, even when coming off the bench. Priced at $5300 on FanDuel and $4800 on DraftKings, Monk is a moderate risk worth taking.

If you’re looking for a player who is secure in the Kings’ rotation and producing solid numbers, Malik Monk is your man. The 24-year-old has been logging over 30 minutes in each of his past two appearances and has been on fire lately, producing 20.5 points and 35.9 DKFP. With the Pacers allowing the most DKFP per game to opposing shooting guards, it’s a good bet that Monk will thrive in the extra usage created by Fox’s absence. Plus, it’s his birthday tomorrow, making him a fun pick for your lineup.

Malaki Branham DK $3,600 – FD $4,400

With Tre Jones unlikely to suit up due to a foot injury, Branham is set to start for the Spurs. He impressed in the last game, posting 32.25 DKFP and scoring 22 points in 32 minutes of action. Branham also recorded five assists and had an 18.9% usage rate.

At just $3,600 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel, Branham is a must-add to your lineup. Despite being a rookie, he has shown glimpses of brilliance, but has been inconsistent with averaging less than 10.0 DKFP per contest in his five starts. However, his low price tag and obvious ceiling make him a worth-while risk on this slate.

Harrison Barnes

Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings has increased usage (3.4%) when De’Aaron Fox is off the floor. He is averaging 29.1 FD points per 36 minutes in this scenario and has been shooting well over the last 10 games, making 48.1% of his shots and 50.9% of his 3-pointers.

The Indiana Pacers are a favorable matchup for Barnes as they allow 38.5% 3-point shooting to small forwards and have the 11th-highest offensive efficiency rating for this position. They also allow the second-most FD points per game (43.3) to small forwards, including 45.7 in the last seven games.

Drew Eubanks DK $3,800 – FD $4,600

Drew Eubanks is a player to keep an eye on in Friday’s game between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Washington Wizards. With Jusuf Nurkic out due to a calf injury, Eubanks is expected to see an increase in playing time. He has been playing well lately, posting a 26-point average over 24 minutes in his last six games and recording a double-double in the last game.

The frontcourt of the Wizards is surrendering the 10th-most opponent paint points per game, which presents an opportunity for Eubanks to step up and perform. With an average of 6.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals over the last 10 games, Eubanks is a valuable addition to any fantasy basketball roster.

Tari Eason

Tari Eason is a player for the Houston Rockets and he has been performing well lately. He has a 22.9% usage rate and is averaging 46.4 FD points per 36 minutes when playing without Kevin Porter and Jalen Green. Over the last six games, he has been averaging 33 FD points, with 14 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. In his last game, he recorded a career-high 50.1 FD points against the Thunder.

On Friday, he is expected to have a high-volume role against the Toronto Raptors, who are allowing 47.7% shooting to power forwards and 36.2% shooting from the bench. They have also given up 44.7 FD points to power forwards in their last seven games. With Jabari Smith potentially being a late addition to the injury report, Eason may start in Friday’s game.
