So, without further ado, let’s dive into our top value plays for the day.

NBA DFS Top Value Plays for Saturday 01/28/23

Kenyon Martin Jr. FD – $5600 DK – $5200

The Rockets and Pistons matchup is an interesting one for DFS players as both teams rank near the bottom in terms of defensive efficiency. One player to keep an eye on is Kenyon Martin Jr., who has been delivering consistent returns from a points-per-dollar perspective. With both Kevin Porter and Jalen Green out for the game, there should be extra shots to go around, making Martin an excellent value on this slate.

The Pistons also present a favorable matchup with a low defensive efficiency rating and a high pace, making this game a prime target for DFS players.

Collin Sexton (FD $5,000 – DK $4,500)

Collin Sexton is a solid DFS option for the Utah Jazz game against the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks have a weak defense and will be playing short-handed, which could mean extra playing time for Sexton. Despite not getting a lot of minutes on the court, Sexton has a high usage rate and has been delivering solid offensive performances.

He has an average of 15.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists through five games and has a high of 29 DK points. With the Jazz being 8-point favorites at home, this could mean extra run for the second unit, making Sexton a valuable pick for tonight’s lineup.

Cam Johnson (FD $6,000 – DK $5,500)

Cameron Johnson has been performing well since returning from injury, with three of his four games yielding 35 or more fantasy points. He now faces the league’s worst defense in the Spurs, and his price has yet to fully adjust on DraftKings, making him a great value play. Johnson has been averaging 29.3 DKFP over the last nine games in 24.8 minutes per game. He’s also been shooting well, with a 57.1% field goal percentage, including 54.2% from three-point range.

The Spurs have a poor defensive efficiency rating of 117.3 (30th) and give up a league-high 40.1% three-point shooting. With Devin Booker out, Johnson has been averaging 39.5 FD points per 36 minutes. This matchup presents a great opportunity for Johnson to continue his strong performance and reach 6x value or better.  His ability to score and rebound make him a valuable asset to your DFS lineup and he is a strong play in all formats tonight.

Keegan Murray (FD $5,600 – DK $5,100)

Keegan Murray, a rookie forward for the Sacramento Kings, has been on a hot streak lately. He’s been scoring at least 23 fantasy points in 11 of his last 12 games and has an average of 27 points in that span. He’s also got a 33-point average across his last four outings. Despite this surge, Murray remains at a low price of $5,100.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, who the Kings will be facing, provide a favorable matchup for Murray as they are ranked fourth in pace and surrender the 4th most fantasy points to power forwards. Additionally, the T-Wolves are on the second night of a back-to-back, making it an even more advantageous matchup for Murray.

Tim Hardaway Jr (FD $5,300 – DK $5,900)

Hardaway Jr. is an attractive option in this matchup as the Dallas Mavericks will be without Luka Doncic. With Doncic off the floor, Hardaway’s usage rate increases to 27% and he has shown to be a reliable fantasy option in the past, averaging 35 fantasy points per game when Doncic was out last season.

He has already scored at least 27 fantasy points in three of the four games that Doncic has missed this season. Despite facing a tough Utah Jazz defense, Hardaway’s potential usage and past performance make him a solid value pick
