As we approach a big slate of NBA games, we must consider players from teams that have questionable motivations. One such team is the Charlotte Hornets, who seem to be fully embracing the tank and are currently fielding a skeleton crew of players.
With stars like LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, PJ Washington, Gordon Hayward, and Kelly Oubre all sidelined, it’s up to players like Théo Maledon to step up and take on a larger role. In fact, Maledon played a whopping 41 minutes in their recent game against the Raptors.
Although he only scored eight points on 16 shot attempts, he did manage to tally 14 assists and eight rebounds. Maledon’s per minute production makes him an attractive fantasy play at his current prices, and if he can avoid getting blown out, he could have a solid floor for Tuesday’s slate. So keep an eye on Maledon as a potential value play in your DFS lineups.
Trey Murphy
Trey Murphy has been thriving in his starting shooting guard role as the NBA season nears its end. Over the last 15 games, he has averaged an impressive 32 FD points while shooting an outstanding 51.4 percent from the field, including 46.1 percent from beyond the arc.
He even had a standout performance against the Kings on March 6, where he scored 40 FD points thanks to a 6-for-11 shooting display. Murphy’s hot hand and recent success make him an intriguing option for Tuesday’s matchup against the Kings, who have been struggling defensively against shooting guards.
Sacramento has allowed the highest offensive efficiency rating of 25.7 to shooting guards and a league-high 48.4 percent shooting from the position, including 40.2 percent from three-point range. So, Murphy has a favorable matchup that could lead to a big fantasy outing, making him a top value play for DFS players to consider.
Saddiq Bey
Bey has been a valuable addition to the Atlanta Hawks since his arrival, serving as a reliable scoring option off the bench. However, he has been given a chance to start in the last two games, logging 30 and 38 minutes and scoring 32.25 and 30.5 DKFP in those outings.
While Bey may not be the most efficient shooter, he has been taking a high volume of shots, with 14 and 13 shot attempts in his last two games, respectively. It’s likely that he will receive another start and play around 30 minutes in Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, which has a high total of 235 points and a narrow spread of only three points.
Bey has already proven that he can produce big fantasy numbers in a starting role, with back-to-back games of over 30 DK points. With De’Andre Hunter still out due to injury, Bey is expected to play a crucial role for the Hawks. He is currently averaging 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 10 games with the team, and he has a great opportunity to shine against the Bulls, who give up the league’s third-most three-pointers per game.
Bey is a solid value play to consider for DFS lineups on Tuesday.
Kelly Olynyk
Kelly Olynyk could be poised for a breakout performance on Tuesday. With the Utah Jazz expected to be without several key players, including Sexton, Clarkson, Markkanen, and Kessler, Olynyk will be one of the few remaining playmakers for the team.
He has already been stepping up in recent games, averaging nearly 35 DK points per game since the Conley and Vanderbilt trades. At his current prices on DraftKings and FanDuel, he appears to be significantly undervalued, and he could become an attractive option if the aforementioned players sit out.
Additionally, Olynyk will be facing the Lakers, who are ranked fourth in pace and 20th in total defense. This makes for a favorable matchup, and Olynyk could exploit their weaknesses to have a big fantasy night.
