NBA DFS Top Value Plays for Wednesday 02/01/23

Cameron Johnson DK $5,400 – FD $5,500

Cam Johnson is widely overlooked but he’s one of the top marksmen in the NBA. Various injuries have limited his career, but with Devin Booker still out, Phoenix is relying on him to pick up the slack. That has allowed him to score 36 or more fantasy points in three of his past six games, which is great value for a player priced under $6K on GPPs. With the Hawks ranked 23rd in defense against wings, Johnson’s shooting should flourish in this matchup.

Despite some setbacks, it’s only a matter of time until Johnson is recognized as one of the best shooters in the NBA. After overcoming injury concerns, he seems to have secured a full-time role with the Suns. He’s played 32 or more minutes in two of his last three games and has produced an average of 27 DraftKings points in his last six games.

With Devin Booker, Cameron Payne, and Landry Shamet all out, the Suns need Johnson to take on a more prominent role. That’s especially advantageous against a team like the Hawks, who give up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing SFs and rank 23rd in points allowed.

Brandon Clarke DK $6,000 – FD $6,000

Clarke has been stuck in a backup role behind Steven Adams, but with Adams out, Clarke is now starting at center and making the most of the opportunity. Throughout his career, he’s been a per-minute fantasy contributor, averaging nearly 1.2 DK points per minute. In his expanded role, Clarke has been producing solid numbers, scoring 33 DK points in two of his three starts. With Portland giving up the third-most fantasy points to centers, Clarke has a great opportunity to continue his strong play.

He’s been a consistent performer, putting up 15.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals in his first three starts. Clarke has also been a high-minute player, logging an average of 25.7 minutes per game. He’s demonstrated a high fantasy ceiling, exceeding 30 points in two games, and has even shown a 43-point ceiling on several occasions. Despite the slight rise in salary, Clarke remains a strong option in this favorable matchup against Portland.

Kenrich Williams DK $4,600 – FD $4,800

Williams is stat-stuffer and his return to the starting lineup in OKC is great news for DFS players. Over the last six games, he’s been averaging 27 fantasy points per game while playing 26 minutes per game. With 25-30 minutes, he can be a great value player below $5,000.

The Thunder are set to score a lot of points against Houston, which has a poor defense and a fast pace. This offensive environment can benefit the whole team, and Williams is no exception. He’s likely to see increased minutes, as evidenced by his 33.1 minutes in Monday’s loss to Golden State. He finished with 25.0 DKFP and has managed at least 25.0 DKFP in three of his last four contests. There’s a chance that Jaylin Williams ($3,300) could start instead, but if Kenrich gets 30-plus minutes against Houston, he should provide a minimum of 5x value.

While Williams may not be the player who can deliver a huge score, he’s a good bet to reach 6x value. He’s been playing at least 25 minutes in five of his last six games and has scored 30 or more in two of three. He should be considered a $6K player if he gets 30 minutes. Houston allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing forwards, making it an easy matchup for Williams to continue his production. With 25-30 minutes, he’s a lock to reach 5x value and has a good chance to reach 6-7x.

Keegan Murray DK $5,100 – FD $5,600

Keegan Murray, Sacramento Kings power forward, has a DraftKings salary of $5,100 and a FanDuel salary of $5,600. The rookie has been on a roll lately, putting up an impressive average of 29 DraftKings points per game over his last seven games, playing 37 minutes each night. Murray’s potential is immense, especially if he sees 35-40 minutes of court time. The matchup couldn’t be better, as the Spurs give up the most fantasy points to opposing forwards.

This young player has already exceeded expectations in his rookie season, and his recent performances further prove his value. In three of his last four games, he’s scored between 25.6 and 33.1 Yahoo points. He also managed 24 Yahoo points in his previous match against the Spurs, who rank 28th in defensive efficiency rating allowed to power forwards (28.6). To top it off, the Spurs have given up the most Yahoo points per game to power forwards in the league this season, making Murray an even more attractive option.

Mikal Bridges DK $7,000 – FD $7,300

During Devin Booker’s injury, Bridges has stepped up with increased production, averaging 18.8 PPG, 4.7 APG, 3.8 RPG and 1.3 SPG while shooting a 41.3% three-point percentage. The talented wingman has demonstrated his high potential, recording over 40 DK and FD points seven times during this period.

In today’s game, Bridges will face the accommodating Atlanta Hawks, who rank 20th in defensive efficiency for shooting guards with a 22.8 rating and have allowed the 8th highest three-point shooting percentage to the position (38.4%). The Hawks have also conceded over 44 fantasy points per game to shooting guards in the last 15 games.
