Jalen Duren
The NBA season is quickly coming to a close, but there are still plenty of value plays to consider for Wednesday’s slate of games. One such player is Jalen Duren of the Detroit Pistons. Duren has been coming off the bench for most of the past month, but with Isaiah Stewart and Marvin Bagley both out, he should see a significant increase in playing time.
Duren has been impressive when given a larger workload this season, averaging 32 DraftKings points per game in the 28 outings where he’s played at least 27 minutes. With a potential 30-minute role on Wednesday, he could be a great value play for DFS enthusiasts. Additionally, he has already proven himself against the Brooklyn Nets, dropping 30 and 32 DraftKings points in their two matchups this year.
While Duren’s role has been somewhat uncertain lately, he made a strong case for more playing time in his last game. He joined the starting lineup alongside James Wiseman and put up 43.5 DraftKings fantasy points in just under 36 minutes of playing time. He has been averaging an impressive 1.23 DraftKings fantasy points per minute over the past month, making him a top option if he retains his starting spot against the Nets.
Johnny Davis
On Tuesday, Washington rested several key players, leaving Davis as the primary offensive option. He responded with an impressive performance, putting up 41 DraftKings points against a tough Milwaukee defense. If he continues to receive 35-40 minutes and 15-20 shots, he could provide excellent value against an Atlanta Hawks team that has struggled defensively this season.
Washington is playing for draft positioning at this point, so expect to see more of their bench players getting significant playing time. Davis, the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, is one of those players who could see a larger role in the final games of the season. He has the talent to make an impact, as demonstrated by his impressive stat line on Tuesday.
If Davis continues to see significant playing time on Wednesday, he could be a great value play against the Hawks. Atlanta has struggled defensively since the All-Star break, ranking 27th in defensive efficiency. Additionally, they play at a fast pace, ranking fourth in the league in that category. This could lead to a high-scoring game, with Davis potentially playing a big role for Washington.
Obi Toppin
Julius Randle is out, Jalen Brunson has been ruled out and RJ Barrett is also questionable due to illness, which could leave the team shorthanded.
In this scenario, Obi Toppin should see an increased role at power forward for the Knicks. In their last game, he played 33 minutes and put up an impressive 35.25 DraftKings fantasy points. Toppin has a history of performing well when given extended playing time, scoring at least 33.0 DraftKings fantasy points in each of the seven games where he’s played at least 30 minutes. He’s averaged over 43.0 DraftKings fantasy points in those contests, making him an excellent value play in Wednesday’s game against the Pacers.
The Pacers are not a particularly strong defensive team, ranking 18th in the league in defensive efficiency. This could provide an opportunity for Toppin to have a big game, especially if the Knicks are short-handed. With a reasonable price tag of $5,100 on DraftKings, Toppin could be a solid addition to your DFS lineups for Wednesday’s slate of games.
Kendrick Nunn
Kendrick Nunn has emerged as a key player for the Washington Wizards in recent games, particularly in the absence of several key players. With the Wizards officially out of playoff contention, Nunn is expected to see significant playing time in Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. He has been on a hot streak lately, scoring in double digits in four consecutive games, including an impressive 49.8 DraftKings and 49.4 FanDuel points in his last game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Washington is expected to once again be without several key players on Wednesday, including Monte Morris, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis, and possibly Delon Wright. This could lead to another busy night for Nunn, who has thrived in an increased role over the past few games.
The Hawks have struggled defensively against second-unit players this season, ranking 19th in the league in defensive efficiency allowed to that position. Additionally, they have given up over 47 DraftKings and over 45 FanDuel points per game to the point guard position in their last seven games. This could provide an opportunity for Nunn to have another big game on Wednesday.
