NBA Weekly DFS Lineup Report for FanDuel 2/4

It’s time for the NBA Weekly DFS Lineup Report for FanDuel. This will be like the review for DraftKings if you’ve been following along with that report.

I’ll be focusing on the FanDuel main contest on the main slate every day from the previous week. The “main contest” is the $3 Clutch Shot unless FD switches things up and offers a $4.44 contest or a $3.33 contest.

All of the information presented below comes via Fantasy Cruncher Pro and their Lineup Study and Rewind features. This is a must have tool if you’re being serious about DFS. You’ll have the ability to go back through years worth of data and analyze great players, or like I’ll be doing, specific contests. I really can’t recommend FC Pro enough.

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $444K Mon NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-18

This was a four-game slate with the winning lineup featuring three players that cost 9k+. The same three players were projected for 40+ fantasy points.

Since it’s a smaller slate we can expect the ownership to be more condensed. This lineup used four players with a projected ownership of 20% or more, and two more players with a projected ownership of 19%. There were no players used with an ownership projection below 10%.

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $4 $1M Tue NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-19

This slate featured 2 games so right away we know the ownership numbers will be sky high. The lineup had a projected ownership of 291.5%, and featured six players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

There were no players in this lineup that cost 9k or more, BUT it makes perfect sense. Nikola Jokic was the only player that fell into that category with an 11.5k price tag.

The lineup featured one player projected for 40+ fantasy points but again, there were only three players projected for that many points and Jokic wasn’t used.

Here’s the first place entry in the $3 $500K Wed NBA Clutch Shot:

Winning FanDuel Lineup for 1-20

This was a 10-game slate that featured one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, two players with a projected ownership of 20%+, and one player with a salary of 9k+. There were four players with a projected ownership below 10%, which is a lot (in my opinion) even for a large slate.

I’m not saying the ownership is right or wrong. I’m saying that I wouldn’t expect a lot of the top performing players to NOT be owned that highly.

January 21, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Thu NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-21

This was a three-game slate that featured three players projected for 40+ fantasy points. Those same three players all had a price tag of 9k+.

Since we’re looking at a small slate we can expect the condensed ownership although I think this lineup isn’t as chalky as expected. There were five players with a projected ownership of 20% or more, and two players with a projected ownership of less than 10%. That’s a great way to mix things up.

January 22, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3.33 $500K Fri NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-22

This was an 11-game slate with the winning lineup featuring one player with an ownership projection of 20% or more, one player with a salary of 9k+, and two players with a projection of 40+ fantasy points.

There were six players in the lineup that had a projected ownership of less than 10%, and five of those players had a projected ownership of less than 5%. That’s pretty wild.

January 23, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3.33 $444K Sat NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-23

This was a seven-game slate that featured one player priced above 9k, three players projected for 40+ fantasy points, and five players with a projected ownership of 20% or more. There were no players with a projected ownership below 10%.

Even though I mention the ownership numbers for every slate I don’t want you to get too caught up in ownership. It’s very slate dependent. It’s not something that will be cookie cutter across slates.

January 24, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $4.44 $400K Sun NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-24

This was a five-game slate with the winning lineup featuring two players with a price of 9k+, three players with a projected ownership above 20%, and three players with a projected ownership less than 10%.

Using the “Risers” and “Fallers” section of the Team Rise or Fall NBA Study Hub can help identify lower owned players with decent upside for the night.

January 25, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $555K Mon NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-25

This was a 10-game slate and there were no players with a projected ownership above 20% in the lineup. There were two players priced at 9k+, and those same two players were projected for 40+ fantasy points.

There were four players with a projected ownership below 10%. They all crushed it. We can’t win at DFS every night but studying the Study Hub, and finding guys to take a chance on will increase our odds. You just need the right combination a couple of times per season to possibly cover your entire year of DFS.

January 26, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $450K Tue NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-26

This slate featured three games so you know what to expect. (Higher ownership throughout the lineup.) There were two players above the 9k mark (actually coming in at above 10k), and the same two players were projected for 40+ fantasy points.

There were only three players below 20% in ownership in the winning lineup. None of the players had a fantasy point projection below 20 points.

January 27, 2021

Here’s the first place entry in the $3 $444K Wed NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning LIneup for 1-27

This was a 12-game slate that featured one player above 9k in salary, and three players projected for 40+ fantasy points.

I’d call this a chalky lineup because four of the players were projected for ownership over 20%. We’ve seen the ownership for the larger slates trend lower.

January 28, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Thu NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-28

This was a four-game slate with two players above 9k in the winning lineup. This lineup stands out because eight of the nine players carried an ownership projection of 27% or more. The two-game slate on January 19th didn’t have ownership this high.

January 29, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Fri NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-29

This was a 10-game slate that featured two players above 9k in salary in the winning lineup. Once again they were the only two players projected for 40+ fantasy points in the lineup.

There was only one player in the lineup with an ownership projection above 20%. That was James Harden at 36.2%. A chalk 9.8k player can be scary but James came through for the most part.

January 30, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Sat NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-30

This was an eight-game slate with a winning lineup that had three players above 9k in salary. Every other player in the lineup was priced below 6k but above 4k.

There were four players in the lineup with an ownership projection above 20%. The other five players had ownership at 11% or less.

January 31, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Sun NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 1-31

This was a four-game slate with the winning lineup featuring three players with a salary of 9k or more. This happened three times in my research. It happened in a three-game, four-game, and eight-game slate so it stands out when I see it.

There were five players with a projected ownership of 20% or more, and two players with an ownership projection of 10% or less.

February 1, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $444K Mon NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 2-1

This was a 10-game slate that featured a winning lineup with no players of 9k or more. This is unusual for a slate of this size in my limited research. There was one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, but we could say two players if we round up Jimmy Butler’s 39.75.

There was only one player with a projected ownership above 20%, the super chalky (and worth it) Jarrett Allen. Every other player in the lineup had a projected ownership at 16% or lower. Four of the players had a projected ownership below 10%.

February 2, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $444K Tue NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 2-2

This was a six-game slate that featured a winning lineup with two players priced above 9k. There were only two players in the lineup with an ownership projection above 20%.

I haven’t been too big on using Draymond Green in my lineups so this probably wouldn’t have been my night. This was also a “No VanVleet, No Cash” type of night. Congrats to anyone that put together a lineup like this.

February 3, 2021

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $3 $500K Wed NBA Clutch Shot:

FanDuel Winning Lineup for 2-3

This was a 10-game slate that featured a winning lineup with three players that were projected for 40+ fantasy points. There were two people in the lineup priced at 9k+.

There were four players in the lineup with an ownership projection of 20% and one player with an ownership projection of 19.9%. That’s fairly chalky on a 10-game slate.

*Every winning lineup featured at least two teammates.

*All 17 winning lineups featured a game stack. The 1-1 stack (Player and opposing player) was the most popular stack followed by the 2-1 stack.

*The winning lineup had a salary of $59,800 14 out of 17 contests.

*There were a total of 153 players used in the 15 contests I analyzed. I found that 13 out of the 153 were projected for less than 20 fantasy points. To go a little further, four of the 13 were projected for 19 fantasy points. And two of those four would be at 20 fantasy points if I rounded up.

*Seven out of 17 lineups featured three players projected for 40+ fantasy points.

*Seven out of 17 lineups featured two players projected for 40+ fantasy points.

2 TO 4 GAME SLATES

FanDuel Winning Lineups for small slates

5 TO 8 GAME SLATES

FanDuel Winning Lineups for Medium Sized Slates

*The winning entry used two players from the same team in all four contests.

*The winning entry used at least $59,800 in salary in all four contests.

9 OR MORE GAME SLATES

FanDuel Winning Lineups for Large Slates

*The winning entry used at most two teammates in all seven contests.

*The winning entry used $59,800 or more in salary six out of seven contests.

CONCLUSION

I say this all the time but definitely take sample size into consideration when looking at the information above. Just because something happened once, twice, or four times is no guarantee that its a trend or strategy that we should set in stone.

Much like DraftKings and the $49,800 salary minimum, it looks like we can use $59,800 as a salary minimum on FanDuel. The smaller slates had two instances of the salary falling below $59,800 so MAYBE we go a little lower for those contests.

That’s all from me for now. I’ll see you all in a week. Until then, LET’S GET THIS MONEY!
