NEW DraftKings & FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Rankings 1/29
The new DraftKings and FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Rankings are live for 1/29. These are my NBA DFS Picks that I am trying to make sure I build with for a single entry tournament on DraftKings or FanDuel. I also stretch this pool out a bit for 3-Max and 20-Max at times while supplementing with whatever our NBA DFS DraftKings Projections or FanDuel Projections are leading me to.
DraftKings NBA DFS Picks Rankings
With the news that Kevin Durant is out, it’s hard not to love both Kyrie Irving and James Harden. And while they both ended as very easy plug and play Tier 1 options for cash games, there were other Tier 1 options in GPP’s that I absolutely LOVE today. DraftKings NBA DFS pricing feels kind of soft today.
Trae Young, Russell Westbrook, and Nikola Vucevic are all right between $8,800 and $9,100 and all three of them have 60+ point upside. In fact, the game with Westbrook and Trae Young opposite of one another could be absolutely electric.
And Vucevic? Well, with the return of PG13 and Kawhi Leonard, there is a good shot that he’ll be the beginning and the end of the Magic offense with the Orlando wings being absolutely locked down.
Dejounte Murray is just $6,100 and offers a mid-40 point upside. Ben Simmons has had three really good games in his last four outings and faces the wretched Wolves defense. He’s just $7,700 on DraftKings.
It doesn’t stop there either. I have plenty of other mid-tier priced guys that I am SO much more interested in today rather than the studs. You’ll have to read my player notes and see my Cash and GPP rankings though.
FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Rankings
Things are not hard on FanDuel tonight, they’re just a bit different. Some of the player’s prices really tightened up for this nice sized slate. That said, Kyrie Irving at just $9,200 on FanDuel looks fantastic. Luka Doncik is all the way up there at $11,500 and has never scored more than 44 FanDuel points against the Utah Jazz. Will this trend stay this way?
Aaron Gordon at just $6,300 looked like an initial steal without Kawhi and PG13 available. He’s been playing the point-forward for them for the better part of two weeks with fantastic numbers. But I am now worried about the defense he will face. He was dropped down to a Tier 2 GPP option.
Jordan Clarkson was a Tier 1 for both Cash and GPP under the assumption that Donovan Mitchell will sit another game with a concussion. We saw him score at will for 31 actual NBA points last game in the start. Don’t sleep on Joe Ingles either, but just not on FanDuel for me.

How to Use the Top DFS Picks Rankings Notes with Rise or Fall Content
A huge aspect of building DFS Lineups is making sure you are building around a core. One way to do that is to start by using our coaching DFS Building Blocks. These are players that I believe might be the key to victory each night and want to target as my core for both SE and/or MME. Some coaches post their Building Blocks for DFS Cash Games or identify their best use.
This is a sample of my personal NBA FanDuel Building Blocks.
Ideally, you are using something like the Building Blocks and giving a thumb up to each of the Blocks players before you begin to make your player pool. It will increase their projection by 8% for each thumb that you give that player in Fantasy Cruncher.

Once you’ve identified your core plays based on the Building Blocks, you likely will want to start to fine-tune your player pool. You can do this in a multitude of ways. You can simply combine the coaching pools from all coaches and have that be your pool. You can potentially just use one pool as your base and then add players you may want to include as well.
You can start with a coaching pool (like my personal Rankings List) and then add players based on projections, ratings, sims model, or a myriad of other reasons you might want to add someone.
The final DFS Building Blocks are filled out by each coach. You can slap a thumb up on each player included. If a player is targeted multiple times, maybe they earn more thumbs? The world is your oyster.
