The new DraftKings and FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Rankings are live for 1/22. These are my NBA DFS Picks that I am trying to make sure I build with for a single entry tournament on DraftKings or FanDuel. I also stretch this pool out a bit for 3-Max and 20-Max at times while supplementing with whatever our NBA DFS DraftKings Projections or FanDuel Projections are leading me to.
I think there are two incredibly different paths to take when building your NBA DFS Lineups tonight. Looking at my DraftKings NBA DFS Picks Rankings, I am absolutely in love with Chris Boucher at $7,300. That’s right.
He only played 23 minutes last game but I expect more time on the court in this game and if Pascal Siakam misses the game (FYI – The Tier 1 Rankings is contingent on Siakam being OUT), I think we see a safer amount of minutes and plenty of peripheral stat stuffing.
A safer Tier 1 player to target tonight is Victor Oladipo. He’s absolutely SMASHED in his first two games as a Houston Rocket and I expect more of the same without Christian Wood tonight. While the masses flock to DeMarcus Cousins, you can roll with Dipo. I think we’ll see 25+ shots taken and as many minutes as he can handle tonight.
On FanDuel, Colin Sexton likely will garner a lot of attention, and rightfully so. He took 29 shots last game and scored a billion points. That’s maybe not true but it was at least 10 million. But right next to him is Fred VanVleet at just $7,800 on FanDuel. He was a Tier 1 NBA DFS Picks Ranking player tonight and that’s because we might not have Kyle Lowry at point guard for the Toronto Raptors.
Coby White snuck his way into my Tier 1 NBA DFS Picks Ranking as well but not for cash games. He finished as Tier 1 ranking for GPP’s only. This was a guy we were all paying $7,000 + for not too long ago. Regression to the mean. I think he plays a bigger role against the Hornets in what should be a very high-scoring game.
Below is a sample of the DraftKings and FanDuel NBA DFS Picks Rankings format so that you know what to expect should you decide to sign up.
A huge aspect of building DFS Lineups is making sure you are building around a core. One way to do that is to start by using our coaching DFS Building Blocks. These are players that I believe might be the key to victory each night and want to target as my core for both SE and/or MME. Some coaches post their Building Blocks for DFS Cash Games or identify their best use.
Ideally, you are using something like the Building Blocks and giving a thumb up to each of the Blocks players before you begin to make your player pool. It will increase their projection by 8% for each thumb that you give that player in Fantasy Cruncher.
Did you know that we are partnered with Fantasy Cruncher? All of our Ronin Tier members receive $20 to use on Fantasy Cruncher EVERY SINGLE MONTH.
Once you’ve identified your core plays based on the Building Blocks, you likely will want to start to fine-tune your player pool. You can do this in a multitude of ways. You can simply combine the coaching pools from all coaches and have that be your pool. You can potentially just use one pool as your base and then add players you may want to include as well.
You can start with a coaching pool (like my personal Rankings List) and then add players based on projections, ratings, sims model, or a myriad of other reasons you might want to add someone.
The final DFS Building Blocks are filled out by each coach. You can slap a thumb up on each player included. If a player is targeted multiple times, maybe they earn more thumbs? The world is your oyster.
