NEW NBA DFS Lineup Weekly GPP Report for DraftKings 3/23

Welcome to a another edition of the NBA DFS Lineup Weekly GPP Report for DraftKings. I’ll be focusing on the Draftkings main contest on the main slate every day from the previous week. The “main contest” is the $15 unless DK switches things up and offers a $20 contest or maybe even a special lower priced event like an $8 contest.

All of the information presented below comes via Fantasy Cruncher Pro and their Lineup Study and Rewind features. This is a must have tool if you’re being serious about DFS. You’ll have the ability to go back through years worth of data and analyze great players, or like I’ll be doing, specific contests. I really can’t recommend FC Pro enough.

March 16, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $15 NBA $450K Fadeaway:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-16

This was a seven-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player above 9k in salary, one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, and two players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

Looking at the projected ownership vs the actual ownership for this contest is interesting. The two players with a high ownership projection had actual high ownership. The three players in the 16% projected ownership range saw two players come in at over 20% and one at just 13.5%. This can happen with late breaking news and late swapping.

March 17, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the first place entry in the $20 NBA $450K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-17

This was an 10-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player priced above 10k, one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, and two players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

It happens from time to time that we have a winning lineup that didn’t stack any teammates. This is one of those times. There was a small game stack with Larry Nance Jr. from Cleveland and Jaylen Brown from Boston. I love seeing someone hit on a bunch of low owned players that have good games. Solid building there.

March 18, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $20 NBA $450K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-18

This was a six-game slate with a winning entry that featured two players above 9k in salary, two players projected for 40+ fantasy points, and three players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

The Knicks and Magic had one of the lowest (if not the lowest) implied game totals on this slate. And three Knicks were still able to show up in the winning lineup. Julius Randle hit 6x value with 62 DK points, and Alec Burks and Reggie Bullock both were above 7x value. And Burks and Randle were extremely chalky. It’s like that some nights.

March 19, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $20 NBA $400K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-19

This was a 10-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player above 9k in salary, one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, and two players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

Finding value players is always a staple of NBA DFS lineup building. The covid-19 protocols and regular game related injuries combined have made finding the “good” value plays even more crucial. Everybody was on the Jordan Poole play for this contest but most people slept on Frank Jackson. That’s a good use of a value play.

March 20, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $20 NBA $400K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-20

This was a four-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player above 9k in salary, two players projected for 40+ fantasy points, and five players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

A small slate means higher ownership. What we don’t see is a higher usage of game stacks in the winning lineup. There was a 2-1 stack with two San Antonio Spurs and Giannis. That’s the kind of game stack we would we on pretty much every slate size so nothing out of the ordinary there.

March 21, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $20 NBA $400K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-21

This was a six-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player above 9k in salary, one player projected for 40+ fantasy points, and two players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

Five out of six lineups so far have featured one player priced above 9k. There was one lineup that had two players priced above 9k. This winning lineup shows once again that identifying low owned value can payoff. Isaac Okoro hit close to 8x value while being in less than 6% of the lineups. I’m not saying it’s easy to find players like that but we should definitely be looking for them.

March 22, 2021 NBA DFS Lineup

Here’s the 1st place entry in the $20 NBA $450K Shootaround:

Winning NBA DFS Lineup for DraftKings 3-21

This was an eight-game slate with a winning entry that featured one player above 9k in salary, three players projected for 40+ fantasy points, and four players with a projected ownership of 20% or more.

Giannis sat the game out in this contest so his teammates picked up the slack and worked their way into the top line up of the night. The Houston Rockets finally snapped their losing streak and two of their players showed up in the top lineup as well. It’s interesting to see that Sterling Brown was projected to be owned 16.5% but showed up in just 2.7% of lineups.

CONCLUSION

The second half of the NBA season is notoriously hard. The less experienced players tend to fade away and you’re left competing with better players until the end of the season. Add that to all of the injury/covid protocol situations and things can get really tough.

These conditions can present us with an opportunity if we’re willing to put in the work. I know everyone doesn’t have time but if you can carve out a little space for yourself I’d recommend diving into our NBA Study hub and also checking out what all of the coaches have to offer. Then you add your own thoughts/notes to the pot and hopefully you cook up those top lineups. It’s possible to get lucky one night but those possibilities increase by being more prepared.

That’s all from me for now. I’ll see you all in a week. Until then, LET’S GET THIS MONEY!
