NEW NBA DFS Lineup Weekly GPP Report for DraftKings 4/6

Welcome to a another edition of the NBA DFS Lineup Weekly GPP Report for DraftKings. I’ll be focusing on the Draftkings main contest on the main slate every day from the previous week. The “main contest” is the $15 unless DK switches things up and offers a $20 contest or maybe even a special lower priced event like an $8 contest.

All of the information presented below comes via Fantasy Cruncher Pro and their Lineup Study and Rewind features. This is a must have tool if you’re being serious about DFS. You’ll have the ability to go back through years worth of data and analyze great players, or like I’ll be doing, specific contests. I really can’t recommend FC Pro enough.

Today I’ll be doing the GPP report a little differently. I ordinarily focus on the past week’s lineups and give a breakdown of what it took to win the main GPP that week. This week I want to take a look at slate size and see if anything stands out for us.

MOST POPULAR SLATE SIZES

The majority of the slates I’ve analyzed have been five, seven, or nine games. I’m guessing that’s just the league preference for number of games on a given day.

In those three slate types we see that every winning lineup used at least two teammates in the lineup. Ten out of the 37 lineups (27%) from the five, seven, or nine game slates used three teammates. Two out of the 37 lineups (5%) used four teammates.

Twenty lineups (54%) from the five, seven, and nine game slates used multiple team stacks. Meaning at least two teammates from one team and at least two teammates from another team. It does stand out that the nine-game slates only had one multi-team stack winning lineup out of 11 winning lineups (9%). If we remove the nine-game slates from the pool then we see that 19 out of 26 lineups (73%) used multiple team stacks.

WINNING LINEUP SALARY USAGE

There are a total of 79 lineups above. I broke down the salary amount for each winning lineup and it told us what we already knew. We want to use as much of the salary as possible.

$50,000 – 34 times (43%)

$49,900 – 21 times (26.6%)

$49,800 – Nine times (11%)

$49,700 – Seven times (8.9%)

$49,600 – Five times (6%)

$49,400 – Two times (2.5%)

$49,200 – One time (1%)

The salary range of $49,800-$50,000 accounts for 81% of all winning lineups. This really tells us all we need to know. If you’re using Fantasy Cruncher you can set the minimum salary to $49,800 and build your lineups from there.

Here’s a breakdown of the salary usage in the most common slate sizes.

FIVE GAME SLATE SIZE SALARY USAGE

$50,000 – Four times

$49,900 – Four times

$49,800 – Three times

$49,700 – One time

$49,600 – One time

SEVEN GAME SLATE SIZE SALARY USAGE

$50,000 – Five times

$49,900 – Two times

$49,800 – One time

$49,700 – Two times

$49,600 – Two times

$49,400 – One time

NINE GAME SLATE SIZE SALARY USAGE

$50,000 – Three times

$49,9000 – Five times

$49,700 – One time

$49,600 – Two times

The five-game slate used $49,800+ in salary 85% of the time. The seven-game slate used $49,800+ in salary 62% of the time. The nine-game slate used $49,800+ in salary 73% of the time.

CONCLUSION

The fun thing about DFS (To me at least) is that there’s so much information to dive into to help your process. There’s no set formula most of the time but we can use probabilities to our advantage. I hope this information helps spark some interest in you all and then you dig deeper. There’s no reason that anyone reading this can’t be the next great DFS player. It will just take time and a lot of studying to improve your process.

That’s all from me for now. I’ll see you all in a week. Until then, LET’S GET THIS MONEY!
