TE4 T.J. Hockenson
T.J. Hockenson is one of the most reliable tight ends in fantasy football, and his 2022 season was a testament to that. With 129 targets, he proved to be a valuable asset to any team. Currently, Hockenson has an ADP of 46.9 in NFL Best Ball drafts, indicating his value in the NFL Best Ball community. With the Vikings attempting 672 passes in 2022, Hockenson should continue to see a significant share of the team’s targets.
Although Adam Thielen left for the Carolina Panthers, Jordan Addison is expected to fill his spot, maintaining the balance of the Vikings’ receiving options. However, the Dalvin Cook situation is worth monitoring as it could lead to more emphasis on the passing game in 2023. Overall, Hockenson’s consistent production and the Vikings’ high pass volume make him an attractive option in NFL Best Ball drafts.
TE9 Pat Freiermuth
Pat Freiermuth emerged as a promising rookie tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. However, his upside will be heavily dependent on the development of second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett, who had a low touchdown percentage of 2.3% in 2022. Greg Dulcich is a tight end to watch in fantasy football best ball drafts this season. With an ADP of 146.2, Dulcich could be a value pick for those looking to bolster their tight end position. In 10 games in 2022, he accumulated 55 targets, 33 receptions, 411 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns.
The Broncos attempted 571 passes in 2022, and assuming their offense becomes an above-league-average offense it has the weapons to be, Dulchich should be a valuable late-round target and a solid piece of Broncos’ stacks. While Russell Wilson had a Touchdown% of 3.3% in 2022, his career average is 5.9%, suggesting he could improve his performance in 2023. Assuming he is the main tight end getting targets for Denver in 2023, Dulcich could emerge as a reliable option for NFL Best Ball tournaments.
