NFL DFS Lineup Study: Week 6 Review and Reset

Share

Our NFL DFS Lineup Study is a third of the way through the 2021 season. The season has been a wash for me so far. I’ve had some losing weeks and some winning weeks with none of them being disastrous or worth bragging about. Thankfully we still have 12 weeks to right our off course ships. I’m ready to get it.

If you find yourself using the tools but still unable to put together a decent showing then go ahead and reach out to our coaches. Use everything that we have to offer and you should see improvement in your play. I say this because it’s worked for me since the launch of the site. We can’t win every time we play but we can definitely put ourselves in the best position to be successful. So let’s get to it!

The information below comes via Fantasy Cruncher. Thanks Fantasy Cruncher! Their Lineup Study feature allows you to look back through years of contests on DraftKings and FanDuel, and the Lineup Rewind feature lets you practice different lineup building strategies without burning through your bankroll with trial and error. The site provides these services for the NFL and nearly all the other sports that DK and FD offer.

NFL DFS Lineup Milly Maker Week 6 Winner

Here’s the winning lineup for the $20 Milly Maker:

NFL DFS Lineup Study for DraftKings Milly Maker

Player (Playa) Bullnasty took down the top spot in Week 6’s Milly Maker using a QB+WR stack with 2.6% combined ownership. What’s incredible about this lineup to me is Bullnasty only spent 9.4k for the Mayfield+Peoples-Jones stack and then slammed the rest of the lineup with big names.. Oh and they mixed in a two tight end build to put the cherry on top.

DraftKings had a second Week 6 Milly Maker for the high rollers at $4,444. Let’s take a look at what worked for that tournament.

NFL DFS LINEUP MILLY MAKER REVIEW

Last week we saw ChipotleAddict take down the big boy tourney and this week it’s his brother Papagates. I wonder if there’s a third brother like Cooper to Peyton and Eli. Dude gave DFS a shot and it didn’t work out.. Don’t worry about him though. His son is gonna be the coldest DFS player ever.. When he turns 18.

PG went with a QB+WR+TE stack and then two sets of teammates with Mixon-Chase and Taylor-Colts DST. Chicago Bears backup running back Khalil Herbert made it into the lineup. I thought he was a lock for the top lineup but that wasn’t the case in the $20 contest.

How has everything played out so far this season? These are the $20 Milly Maker winning quarterbacks through the first six weeks of the season.

The red highlighted numbers indicate the times the winning quarterback WAS NOT in the Top 5 for implied game total. The quarterbacks from games in the Top 5 for implied game total trend hit 67% of the time in the $20 Milly Maker in the first six weeks.

Here are the quarterbacks that were used in the high dollar tournament through week six.

There were only two weeks where we saw a winning lineup with an opposing player. Here’s how it played out in the high dollar tournaments:

There were two weeks in the high dollar tournament where an opposing player was included in the stack.

Here’s how it looks if you combine the $20 Milly Maker and the high dollar Milly Maker (The $20 Milly results are in bold):

There might not be opposing players in the winning lineups but using two players with the quarterback is dominating so far. We’re looking at 10 out of 12 lineups (83%) where the quarterback was stacked with two teammates.

NFL DFS Lineup Study for the Week 6 FanDuel Milly Maker

Let’s take a quick look at how things played out on FanDuel in their Milly Maker contest.

FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Review for Week 6 Milly Maker

Shoutout to Mimiofthree for the big takedown on FanDuel. They went with a QB+WR+DST stack and no opposing player. Khalil Herbert was in this lineup and you see he was drafted by 16.4% of lineups. I used around 35% Herbert on both sites so I’m a big fan of that play. All of the other plays are within the realm of lineup construction. It’s really just a matter of fitting things together in the right combination.

Here are the winning quarterback results for FanDuel through the first six weeks of the season:

Only one quarterback won someone a Milly Maker by playing in a game outside of the Top 5 for implied total on the slate. We can see that four quarterbacks have won the Milly Maker over six weeks. The names are no surprise but the lack of variety stands out when you look at the information like this.

Let’s take a look at the winning stacks:

There have been three weeks of stacking the quarterback with one teammate, and three weeks of stacking the quarterback with two teammates (including the DST in Week 6). An opposing player was used in just two out of six lineups so that keeps in line with what we saw on DK.

What I’ll be doing moving forward is stacking my quarterback with two teammates, and surround them with my top plays for the week. I’m not ruling out stacking the QB with an opposing player as well, but I’m going to be much more selective instead of using that as an automatic rule.

That’s all for me. As always, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @eagsixcards. Good luck to everyone this weekend!
