Crafting the Lineup with Strategy
When building this lineup using Fantasy Cruncher, I employed a deliberate strategy. My aim was to create a lineup that maximizes the potential for strong synergy among players. Here’s a breakdown of the key elements of this strategy:
QB Stacking: I prioritized a 2-player stack with my quarterback. This approach allows for a more interconnected lineup, where the QB’s performance can significantly impact the selected wide receiver, tight end or running back potentially leading to higher point production. Ideally you would want to only include pass catching backs in a stack like this.
Opponent Bring-Back Stack: To further enhance the lineup’s versatility and mitigate risk, I ensured the inclusion of at least one player from the opposing team. This “bring-back stack” allows for potential maximum upside as we are attempting to benefit from a game environment exploding where both teams are putting up points in bunches.
Secondary Game Stack: Additionally, I strategically incorporated a secondary game stack involving players from a different game. This secondary stack has the same fundamental thought process as the main game stack as we’re looking to capitalize on players in a different game with a great game environment.
Below, you will see the setup inside Fantasy Cruncher to get a lineup like this with 2 unique stacks. You can add several layers to this if you’d like but this is the basic setup.

Quarterback (QB)
Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)
- Matchup: KC @ MIN
- Start (ET): 4:25 PM
- Salary: $8,200
- Projected Ownership: 10.55%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 24.37
Mahomes had a bit of a hiccup last week with a season-low 15 fantasy points. However, don’t let that deter you. He’s poised to bounce back against a Vikings defense that ranks 23rd against fantasy QBs. In the previous game, Mahomes completed 18 of 30 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also added 51 yards on the ground. While the passing game had its struggles, Mahomes remains a high-end QB1 option in Week 5.
Running Backs (RB)
Alexander Mattison (Minnesota Vikings)
- Matchup: MIN vs KC
- Start (ET): 4:25 PM
- Salary: $5,700
- Projected Ownership: 14.23%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 14.63
Mattison is gaining momentum after a slow start to the season, posting 25 fantasy points over his last two games. He’s a solid RB2 choice against a Chiefs defense that ranks 8th against fantasy running backs. In the previous game, Mattison rushed for 95 yards on 17 carries and caught a pass for an additional three yards. As the lead back for the Vikings, he’s primed for opportunities in Week 5, even in a tough matchup against the Chiefs.
Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs)
- Matchup: KC @ MIN
- Start (ET): 4:25 PM
- Salary: $5,700
- Projected Ownership: 15.98%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 15.66
Pacheco has been on fire lately, tallying 38 fantasy points over his last two games. He’s a versatile option, ranging from a low-end RB1 to a high-end RB2, facing a Vikings defense that ranks 10th against fantasy running backs. In the last game, Pacheco rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while also adding 43 receiving yards. He’s the go-to back for the Chiefs and deserves a fantasy RB2 designation in Week 5.
Wide Receivers (WR)
Wan’Dale Robinson (New York Giants)
- Matchup: NYG @ MIA
- Start (ET): 1:00 PM
- Salary: $3,000
- Projected Ownership: 8.49%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 8.40
Robinson, despite a knee concern, is an intriguing option, especially for a secondary stack alongside Hill. His limited practice status doesn’t seem to hinder his Week 5 availability. In the previous game, he was a bright spot for the Giants, and his role in the offense should continue to grow.
Marquise Brown (Arizona Cardinals)
- Matchup: ARI vs CIN
- Start (ET): 4:05 PM
- Salary: $5,000
- Projected Ownership: 10.53%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 13.91
Brown has been quietly consistent, delivering double-digit fantasy points in his last three games. He’s a dependable WR3 option against a Bengals defense that ranks 13th against fantasy wide receivers. In the previous game, Brown caught seven of 10 targets for 96 yards. He’s emerging as a steady fantasy WR2.
Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins)
- Matchup: MIA vs NYG
- Start (ET): 1:00 PM
- Salary: $9,000
- Projected Ownership: 22.49%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 23.53
Hill had a quieter week but is set for a bounce-back against the Giants, who are 14th against fantasy wide receivers. Hill is a matchup-proof WR1, and even in a subpar performance, he remains a must-start in Week 5.
Tight End (TE)
Chig Okonkwo (Tennessee Titans)
- Matchup: TEN @ IND
- Start (ET): 1:00 PM
- Salary: $3,200
- Projected Ownership: 9.43%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 8.66
Okonkwo has shown promise, and his price tag makes him an interesting value play. Keep an eye on his performance, as he could provide a solid return on investment in Week 5.
Flex
Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs)
- Matchup: KC @ MIN
- Start (ET): 4:25 PM
- Salary: $7,600
- Projected Ownership: 16.00%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 20.75
Kelce is a consistent force in the Chiefs’ offense, and even when the passing game struggles, he delivers. Facing a Vikings defense that ranks 5th in DVOA against tight ends, Kelce is still a top TE option for Week 5.
Defense/Special Teams (DST)
Tennessee Titans
- Matchup: TEN @ IND
- Start (ET): 1:00 PM
- Salary: $2,400
- Projected Ownership: 13.98%
- Projected Fantasy Points: 6.80
The Titans’ defense has shown flashes of brilliance, making them an intriguing budget-friendly option for Week 5. Keep an eye on their performance against the Colts.
