Welcome to the Team Rise or Fall NFL DraftKings DFS picks for Championship Sunday. I’ll be giving a few of my favorite picks from the slate. I will urge you to be wise with your bankroll. It’s a two-game slate so expect to see high ownership, tight cash lines, and multiple ties in tournaments.
Remember, in our NFL cash games I’m not looking for a 2% owned play that no one else is on. I want high floor plays, receivers who are getting 7+ targets, and running backs who rack up the touches (carries and receptions). Remember we need to best half the field, not everyone.
In NFL tournaments, we want to seek out correlation. I want to stack my quarterback with one, even two pass catchers and to run it back with a receiver on the opposing team. It is here where we can run out that 2% owned play in hopes of shooting to the top of the leaderboards and taking down a big one.
Allen projects as the highest-rated and scoring quarterback on this slate. The lack of a running game has been apparent all season long. Allen is only 250 yards away from leading the team in rushing which shows how much of a running threat he is. This tells me the offense runs through him both with his arm and legs. Throughout the season the Chiefs allowed the 4th most fantasy points to quarterbacks which puts Allen in an even better spot.
Adams is standard of wide receivers this weekend. Adams projects as the highest-rated and scoring wideout on the slate. Throughout the season and even last week, Adams consistently saw double-digit targets. This will be a rematch of the week six clash against the Bucs where Adams caught 6 of 10 targets for 61 yards. The game ended in a blowout but this is a completely different matchup with a lot on the line. Fire him up with confidence!
Recency bias will have people thinking about the week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers and what a dud Rodgers put up. I love the idea of getting an angry Aaron Rodgers at low ownership and a discounted price. The game has an implied total of over 50 which is always nice to target.
This pick is going to be dependent on the status of Patrick Mahomes. Hill is a threat to score every time he touches the ball – he is that electric. Hill projects as the second-highest scoring wideout on this slate in our model. He saw double-digit targets last in last weekend’s win over the Browns and I can see that being the case again should Mahomes clear the concussion protocol.
Quarterback – Josh Allen
Wide Receiver – Stefon Diggs
Opposing Pass Catcher – Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill
This stack will garner ownership but a healthy (compared to Mahomes) Allen and Diggs are a formidable combination. Vegas is expecting a high-scoring game and as we’ve seen throughout the season most points are coming from Allen and Diggs is his favorite target.
On the other side of the ball, the choice is yours to make. Hill and Kelce both saw 10 targets last week and both caught 8 of them. The difference between them was that Kelce ended up with the touchdown. Your guess is as good as mine in choosing between the two.
Before I bow out of this article, I want to take some time to thank you, the reader, for clicking on this link and reading what I had to say. I want to thank Mitch (DFSnDonuts) for the opportunity to write for Team Rise or Fall. I hope the NFL season was as profitable for you as it has been for me and I look forward to next season!
