Welcome back for the Week 2 Sneak Peek for DraftKings and FanDuel. DFS is so much fun for NFL. My goal is to give just try to point you in the right direction with some light early week research.
Dak struggled Monday night against the Rams, no doubt about it. This week he’s going against a team that allowed 30+ points to be put on the scoreboard. With an over / under of 52.5 I think this is a get-right spot for the high-powered Cowboys offense.
This isn’t a sexy play by any stretch, but the Giants defense aren’t world beaters by any stretch. Trubisky threw for 3 TDs last week and I can see another multi TD game against a Giants defense that that ranks in the bottom 5 DVOA against the pass.
He’s starting, he’s a threat on to run the ball. Am I looking to actively fit in my lineups? No, but I must put someone in here!
Elliot was on the field for 88% of the Cowboy’s offensive plays. He had 48% of the teams touches and 86% of the teams RB touches. He’s a high floor, high ceiling play going against a bottom third defense.
It looks like Marlon Mack will miss the season with a torn Achilles which will throw a bigger load on Taylor soon than later. We saw Hines get some touches in both the run and passing game, but I am not overly worried about him being the de facto starter. Taylor lead the team in carries (9) and caught all 6 targets that went his way. On a site like DK those receptions are gold and I think he carries a bigger load come week 2.
This play isn’t for the faint of heart, but I like it. Jet is finally healthy after missing the last two seasons with a knee injury. He ran the ball three times and was targeted in the passing game another five. The 49ers are going to out angry after dropping the season opener and if the game gets ugly, I can see Jet getting some more reps in to help shake off the rust of being out for so long. He’s a threat to break one any time he touches the ball.
After a 14-catch game week one, what else does he have to prove? He’s the highest priced WR on the slate but Rodgers will pepper him with targets. Detroit doesn’t have anyone to match up with him, I can see another big day incoming.
See the notes on Dak and Zeke and apply them here. Cooper was targeted 14 times and I fully expect him to be Dak’s go-to option again this week.
Last season Watkins blew up for a big game then disappeared for the rest of the year. Is that going to happen again this year? I’m not sure, but at 4.8k on DK I’ll have some shares of Watkins and the high-powered KC offense.
Andrews hauled in 5 of 6 targets for 58 yards and 2 TDs. He’s a safe bet to see 5-8 targets a game and be a target Lamar looks for in the red zone.
I was big on Jonnu in season long redrafts and I love him this week in DFS. We know the Titans literally runs through Derek Henry and we know the team has condensed options in the passing game. On Monday night Smith saw 7 targets and would expect that to that to be the top end of what he’ll see from week-to-week.
Herndon was second on the team in targets behind Jamison Crowder and saw 7 targets. I think the Jet’s are going to be forced to throw the ball this weekend against an angry 49ers team. I think that target share will be duplicated again this weekend with plenty of positive game script forcing the team to throw.
