I thought the quarterback selections were pretty spot on considering this article is simply the first glance. Running back left something to be desired. We knew going into last week that the Texans were consistently gashed on the ground and that trend continued this week with Cook going for 27/130/2. Kenyan Drake, you are dead to me (not really, just in fake football, best wishes to you and yours if you read this). Against a team that has given up some monster numbers to running backs he fell flat, but the team as a whole did. At the wide receiver position, I listed teams with multiple, viable pass catchers. I hope you planted your flag in the right one. Lockett, Gallop, and Woods were definite misses but I’ll take the win on the other receivers. Tight end rounds out the position groups and man I’m proud to hang my hat on this one. I don’t think you were overly disappointed if you played any of these guys are they gave a better return than Adam Trautman. Moving on…

Week 5 Player Picks

QB

Dak Prescott $7,400 DK – $8,700 FD
Going back to the well with Dak here. The numbers he’s put up are incredible and unless the defense tightens up, Prescott is going to be forced to throw the ball in order to stay in games just like through the first four weeks of the season. The Giants don’t possess a shutdown defense so my biggest fear in this spot is that Zeke Elliot finally busts out of his rut and puts up big yardage.

Daniel Jones $5,400 DK – $7,000 FD
This is more a game theory play. If Dak or Zeke are going to lead the charge this means Danny Dimes is going to have to throw to keep the game competitive. He isn’t the most talented player you can roster but he’s showed flashes last season and I would hope he would flash if his team gets down early.

Jimmy Garoppolo $5,500 DK – $6,700 FD
I like this more as a FanDuel punt rather than one on DraftKings. It won’t take much for him to hit value on either site, and with the 49ers offense getting healthy I can see Jimmy G putting up some throwing for 250 yards and a few touchdowns against Miami’s bottom third pass defense.

RB

Kareem Hunt $6,500 DK – $7,000 FD / D’Ernest Johnson $4,700 DK / $5,300 FD
This is one where we may have to wait and see how this situation plays out. Starter Nick Chubb is being put on IR and is expected to miss about six weeks. We know Chubb and Hunt were essentially 1A and 1B but this makes things interested. D’Ernest actually out-touched Hunt, but the question we have to ask ourselves; was it because Hunt was nursing an injured groin or was it because the Browns want to keep the backfield timeshare going? I think as the week unfolds we’ll have more answers to this question.

Kenyan Drake $5,700 DK – $6,200 FD
I know I said he was dead to me but I’m might go back to the well. He’s playing the Jets. The Jets are one of the worst teams at defending the run giving up over four yards per carry, 129 yards per game, and have given up six rushing touchdowns on the year. I know the risk is there but man this is a great bounce-back spot.

WR

Davante Parker $5,900 DK / $6,400 FD
Parker continues to blossom into the receiver we expected him to be out of college. I like his matchup going up against a 49ers team who cannot seem to pressure the quarterback and is playing without their top three cornerbacks. I think Ryan Fitzpatrick will continue to pepper Parker with targets this weekend.

Robbie Anderson $5,900 DK / $6,200 FD
Robbie escaped the incompetence of Adam Gase and is shining in this offense. Coming off of an upset of the Cardinals where he went for eight catches and 99 yards. He’s averaging 8.5 targets per game and I don’t that is going to stop this week. The rapport between him and new starter Teddy Bridgewater has been excellent.

T.Y. Hilton $4,900 DK / $5,700 FD
Hilton has a bad start to the year, failing to find a good rapport with new starter Philip Rivers. I don’t think a combo of their caliber is going to continue to out of sync all season and what better way to get in sync than against a team that gave up over 500 yards passing last weekend.

TE

Dalton Schultz $4,800 DK / $5,300 FD
Schultz saw another 8 targets on Sunday, which coincidently is his average on the season. There has been no drop off from injured starter Blake Jarwin, and one can argue that Schultz has been even more impressive. I’m planting my flag here and saying he will continue to see his target share moving forward.

Evan Engram $4,600 DK / $5,500 FD
This goes in line with the Daniel Jones play. If the game goes into a shootout Engram is the guy I want from the Giants offense. He is as physically talented as any other tight end in the league and I would like to see him featured more.

Daniel Fells $3,400 DK / $4,700 FD
This is my pay down tight end this week. Starter Jordan Akins left Sunday’s game against the Vikings with a concussion. If Akins misses the game on Sunday I don’t mind filling in with Akins who isn’t a target monster but has a rapport with Deshaun Watson while in the red zone.

See you in Discord,
Arias
