Week 7 Review

QB

Russell Wilson 35.92 DK Points / 32.92 FD Points

Joe Burrow 38.64 DK Points / 34.64 FD Points

RB

Aaron Jones DNP

Kenyan Drake 5.1 DK Points / 4.6 FD Points

WR

Michael Thomas DNP

Terry McLaurin 22 DK Points / 18.5 FD Points

TE

Travis Kelce 6.1 DK Points / 4.6 FD Points

Anthony Firkser 2.7 DK Points / 1.7 FD Points

The quarterbacks killed it this week. I’m more proud of the Burrow call than the Wilson one, at this point in the season it’s looking like Seattle is going to just unleash Russ.

Aaron Jones was out to an injury but Jamaal Williams filled in nicely. Drake disappointed, got injured, and will probably lose his starting spot if Chase Edmonds plays well after the bye. The issue for Drake is that Kyler Murray is a better runner and Edmonds is the better pass catcher.

Michael Thomas was a scratch late in the week due to a hamstring issue. Terry McLaurin did what we were expecting against a bad Dallas defense. I’ll be looking to continue to run out opponents against them.

Travis Kelce was a miss. Kansas City put up 43 real-life points and he managed only a few catches, such is variance. Firkser was only in play in Jonnu Smith were to miss. Jonnu played and they both put up subpar numbers.

Week 8 Player Picks

QB

Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers is coming off a four-touchdown performance against the Texans. He’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in all but one game this season – the stinker against the Buccaneers. He projects as a top-three scoring quarterback in the Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub.

Baker Mayfield

Baker threw for five touchdowns this past weekend against the Bengals, including one which put them in the lead with 11 seconds left in the game. Our NFL Study Hub shows that Mayfield is in a plus match-up against a team that allows the 7th most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

RB

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Edwards-Helaire’s last game was subpar. He rushed 8 times for 46 yards and a touchdown, he also brought in one of four targets. The Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub shows us that the Jets allow the 7th most points to running backs and I would expect this game to become a blowout rather quickly.

JaMycal Hasty

This is the homer in me making this call. Seattle’s firepower on offense is going to greatly outweigh that of the 49ers who lost another running back (Jeff Wilson Jr) to IR. Hasty saw the lion’s share of the touches once Wilson went down and I would expect that to continue this week. The 49ers will have to control the clock and keep Russ off the field.

WR

Mike Evans

Evans ranks as a top 5 value this week according to our NFL Study Hub. When we consider that Antonio Brown is not active this week and Chris Godwin having surgery on his broken finger, Evans should see all the targets he can handle.

Rashard Higgins

I like Higgins as a punt option this week. He did well in relief of Odell Beckham who left last week’s game with a knee injury. The Las Vegas Raiders rank in the bottom third in the league in allowing fantasy points to wide receivers. He was targeted six times this past Sunday and would expect that number at a minimum this week.

TE

Jonnu Smith

Smith is going against the Bengals this week. After a nominal performance against the Steelers, he’s looking to bounce back against a Bengals defense that allows the 4th most points to tight ends. Our NFL Study Hub ranks him as a top 5 value at the position.

George Kittle

The People’s Tight End projects to be the second-highest scoring tight end on the slate. 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan will continue to look for ways to get the ball in his hands as he’s done all season. Kittle is averaging 30.08% of the team’s target market share and I don’t see that load decresing at all with the Seahawks on the schedule.
