Captain/MVP/SuperStar Plays
Josh Allen, QB ($18,000 (DK), $17,500 (FD), $37 (Yahoo))
Let’s kick off the year with the favorite to win the MVP this year in Josh Allen. Allen and the Bills start the year off with a tough test against the Rams however, according to the Team Rise or Fall Study Hub Josh is the highest projected player for the game and offers the highest ceiling of any player in the game.Â
Josh Allen averaged nearly 26 fantasy points per game last year and with a healthy team total of 27.5 he has a very clear path to being the highest scoring player on the slate.Â

Allen Robinson, WR ($9300 (DK), $12000 (FD), $15 (Yahoo))
This play is more of DraftKings focused captain play as we know from our lineup study (which by the way if you have not checked out yet be sure to review the NFL DFS Showdown Lineup Study article I put together), we know that Wide Receivers are the most common positions that show up as optimal over the last three season.Â
Allen Robinson comes over from the Chicago Bears looking to prove he is still a top receiver in this game despite the down years the last couple years. With Cooper Kupp drawing a ton of attention we should Allen Robinson get peppered with targets as he faces a Bills secondary that will be banged up.Â

Flex Plays

Towards the end of last year and into the playoffs we saw Gabe Davis start to step into almost a WR2 role as Cole Beasley’s role seemingly diminished each week. Now with Beasley gone the role is firmly Davis’s and with Jalen Ramsey focusing his attention on Stefon Diggs it should give Gabe plenty of opportunities to prove the hype from the pre-season is real.Â
Ben Skowronek, WR ($1800 (DK), $6500 (FD), $10 (Yahoo))
Tutu Atwell WR ($1000 (DK), $6500 (FD), $10 (Yahoo))
This last play is dependent on the status of Van Jefferson who has yet to practice and is trending towards not playing as of right now. Should Van Jefferson be out, enter Ben Skowronek or Tutu Atwell as the Rams WR3. With huge contests to kickoff the season on all sites, Ben and Tutu are salary relief options that could allow you afford more studs in your lineups. Last year when Skowronek received more playing time due to injuries 5 targets in that game against the Seahawks.Â
