NFL Top DFS Picks for Chiefs vs Chargers Thursday Night Showdown

NFL Top DFS Picks for Chiefs vs Chargers Thursday Night Showdown

Welcome to the NFL Top DFS Picks for Chiefs vs Chargers Thursday Night Showdown! We kickoff week 2 with a great matchup between two AFC West rivals. The Chiefs are 3 point home favorites and the game has a total of 54.5. We should be in for a great higher scoring game.

For each primetime game this season, I will be providing you with my favorite plays at the Captain, MVP, Superstar positions as well as the flex position for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo.

Captain/MVP/SuperStar Plays

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR $12,000 (DK), $11,000 (FD), $16 (Yahoo))

We have two high-powered offenses with the Chiefs and Chargers which mean we will have a lot of expensive options like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Justin Herbert, and Austin Ekeler. All make for great options at the multiplier spots across the sites but they will be chalky which makes me want to look at paydown options to be able to afford the studs in the flex spots.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is my top paydown option for this game. In his first game as a Chief he saw 8 targets and caught 6 of them for 79 yards. While those numbers may not pop off the screen at you, the Team Rise or Fall Study Hub has JuJu projected with the highest ceiling of any Chiefs player not named Mahomes or Kelce. I expect JuJu to have similar performance but find the end zone in this game.

We have recently added Individual Sport memberships to our offerings here at Rise or Fall. If you would like to subscribe for an NFL Monthly or NFL Weekly without access to any of the other sports you now have that option.

All memberships come with Discord Access, however, only the Monthly All Access for $39.99 comes with the $20 monthly credit to Fantasy Cruncher.

Mike Williams, WR $13,500 (DK), $12,500 (FD), $21 (Yahoo))

While the Chargers got the win in Week 1, the offense struggled to get much going and Mike Williams was at the forefront of that with just two targets all game despite Keenan Allen going down with an injury early. In fact no Charger receiver had more than four targets.

With Keenan Allen looking to be out for this game, Mike Williams should bounce back this week and according to the Team Rise or Fall study hub he has the highest ceiling of any Charger besides Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler.

Flex Plays

Josh Palmer, WR $5,000 (DK), $7,000 (FD), $13 (Yahoo))

Continuing with the Chargers passing game with Keenan Allen likely out this will move Josh Palmer to WR2 for the Chargers. At nearly, min price on FanDuel and Yahoo Palmer makes for a great value play to be able to afford more studs in your lineups. On DraftKings, his price is fair and is a great last piece in your lineup.

Jerick McKinnon, RB $2,600 (DK), $6,500 (FD), $12 (Yahoo))

I should probably have listed all the backup tight ends as this is a showdown after all and it seems like they are always involved somehow in the winning lineups but I want to mention Jerrick McKinnon who can be like playing a backup tight end. McKinnon is the backup running back for the Chiefs and last week he saw more snaps than Clyde Edwards-Helaire that may have been due to the blowout however, all but one of carries/targets came when the starters were on the field. He had 4 carries and 4 targets in the passing game. All it takes is for one those to find their way into the end zone for him to pay off and end up in the optimal lineup.

That will do it for me, if you want to receive my entire player pool along with notes for this game and for each main slate be sure to join us at Team Rise or Fall!
