Welcome to the Team Rise or Fall NFL Week 13 GPP Picks for FanDuel. What I want to accomplish with this post is laying down a few paths that hopefully lead to the top of a tournament. Keep in mind for Gpps/tournaments: We’re looking for upside and correlation. This means stacking a quarterback with at least one pass-catcher from his team and one from the opposing team. I know we recently saw an unstacked quarterback (Taysom Hill) take down a Milly Maker on DraftKings but I’m sticking with stacking.
All information below is based on the Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub. Let’s get to Week 13!
Taysom Hill (7.7k)
Hill is averaging 21.47 fantasy points per game in his two starts at quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. His best game was his first game at the helm, against the Atlanta Falcons. Well, this week Taysom and the Saints take on the Atlanta Falcons. A guy with rushing ability playing in a dome is definitely an attractive tournament play.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (7.4k)
I like Fitzpatrick in all formats. When it comes to stacking, I think you can link him up with one of his pass catchers without running it back with anyone from the Cincinnati Bengals. Ryan stands as the fourth-highest projected quarterback in our NFL Study Hub so let’s fire up some Fitzmagic.
David Montgomery (6.2k)
This is the definition of a tournament play. I’m taking a swing on Montgomery this week for a couple of reasons: The Chicago Bears take on the Detroit Lions and their league-worst defense against running backs, he’s in the top eight for projections, and he’s the second-best value in our NFL Study Hub. He’s also averaging five targets per game over his last four games.
Austin Ekeler (7k)
Ekeler rejoined the Los Angeles Chargers last week after a stint on the injured list and got right back to work. He’s averaged 17.55 points in complete games this season. This week Austin takes on the New England Patriots who are middle of the pack against running backs. He should have fresher legs after missing 11 weeks so I’m looking for Ekeler to roll.
Calvin Ridley (8.4k)
Ridley scored 11.5 fantasy points on five catches for 90 yards in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints. That was a game that saw the Saints defense thrash the Atlanta Falcons’ offensive line for eight sacks, and Matt Ryan threw two interceptions. If Julio Jones doesn’t play that’s even better for Ridley, and if Julio does play who’s to say whether he’s there for the whole game.
Keenan Allen (8.1k)
Allen is second to Davante Adams for scoring over the last four weeks. Adams cost 1.4k more than Allen which means you get similar production at a nice discount. Justin Herbert has targeted Keenan Allen almost 12 times per game over their last four games. This week the Los Angeles Chargers take on the New England Patriots and their 23rd ranked defense against wide receivers. I don’t see Allen’s hot streak coming to an end this weekend.
Mike Gesicki (5.7k)
Gesicki’s biggest games of the season all came with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback. Well, Fitz is back under center and the Miami Dolphins host the Cincinnati Bengals and the league’s 28th ranked defense against the tight end position. Gesicki scored his first touchdown since Week 3 last Sunday and I’m looking for him and Fitzpatrick to build on that chemistry.
Darren Waller (7k)
Waller is the best value and highest projected player at the tight end position in the Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub. He’s averaged 9.6 points on 7.3 targets over his last four games, and this week he faces the league’s 25th ranked defense against tight ends in the New York Jets. It’s hard to think of a better spot for the Las Vegas tight end.
Miami Dolphins (4.9k)
The Dolphins are in an excellent spot against the Cincinnati Bengals 20th ranked offense. Miami is averaging 9.09 fantasy points per game this season and has scored double digit points five times this season. I like them to have a big game against the floundering Bengals.
Green Bay Packers (4.1k)
Look, if the Philadelphia Eagles are gonna keep rolling Carson Wentz out there then we’re gonna keep streaming defenses against him. Wentz is playing like he has a million dollar bonus clause for most turnovers in the league. He seems to get sacked every other time that he drops back. Going on the road to Green Bay won’t be the cure for the Eagles and their terrible offense.
Good luck to everyone this weekend. Let’s get this money!
