Welcome to NFL Week 8 cash game picks for FanDuel. It’s important to keep in mind when we’re playing “cash games” (50/50s, Double-Ups, Head-to-Heads) we’re not looking for slate breaking scores. We have to finish ahead of 40%-50% of the field. This means we’ll look for players with solid floors and we’re not worried about ownership for the most part. All information is based on the Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub.
Ryan Tannehill and his 7.5k salary rates as the best value quarterback in the Team Rise or Fall NFL Study Hub. The Titans are five-point favorites on the road against the Bengals in a game with an implied total of 53.5 points. Cincinnati’s defense made Baker Mayfield look awesome last week. Now it’s Ryan Tannehill’s turn.
If you’re looking to save a lot more money at quarterback then Jimmy G is the play at 6.6k. Garoppolo comes in as the third-best value in the NFL Study Hub, he’s facing a Seattle defense ranked 31st vs the quarterback position, and the game has an implied total of 54 points.
Chris Carson is out for the Seattle Seahawks so Carlos Hyde is expected to soak up the majority of his usage. Hyde finished with 15.1 fantasy points in relief of Carson last week, and this week he comes in as the best value at running back in the NFL Study Hub. The Niners are tough against running backs (5th overall) but, Hyde’s usage and 5k price tag make it worth the risk.
There are a lot of good running back options this week but, you have to love a back that gets a lot of usage for a team favored by 19 points this weekend. I imagine Andy Reid will want to get Leveon Bell a touchdown against his former team and I imagine Bell wants that even more. With that said, a 19 point spread tells me there’s going to be enough touches for CEH to pay off his 7.5k price. Also worth noting, the Jets are the 25th ranked team against the run.
This position is all over the place this week (In my opinion) so I’m going to break this down a little differently today.
If you’re looking to strictly go the targets route you’ll see in our NFL Study Hub that Davante Adams, Emmanuel Sanders, Stefon Diggs, and Corey Davis are all projected for 10+ targets. We can add Allen Robinson and Tyler Lockett if we round up. So there are six target monsters on the slate.
If you’re looking to strictly go the value route you’ll see in our NFL Study Hub that Tyler Lockett, Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Davante Adams are the five best value plays. And if you’re paying really close attention you’ll see that Davante Adams and Tyler Lockett are in both groups.
Gronk is the third-best value in our NFL Study Hub, has a 5.6k price tag, and he and Brady seem to be getting back to their old magic. Gronkowski over the last four weeks has had three, six, eight, and eight targets and 3.4, 6.7, 16.3, and 14.7 point performances. I like the direction this is trending.
Kittle’s 7.7k price brings him in $200 less than Travis Kelce although George’s season average for fantasy points is nearly seven points higher than the Chiefs’ tight end. A quick glance at the NFL Study Hub shows Kittle as our second-highest value on the slate. Mix in a game with an implied game total of 54 and Mr. Kittle becomes an even more attractive play.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are the top value defense in our NFL Study Hub. The 5k price is a little steep but, KC should roll over the hapless Jets offense. We want sacks and turnovers on defense, not just a small amount of points allowed. The Chiefs have a chance to achieve all three on Sunday.
The Colts are 4-2 overall and that’s mainly on the strength of their defense. This is backed up in the NFL Study Hub where you can see the Colts allow the fewest fantasy points per game as a defense at 58.56. Indy draws the Detroit Lions this week and are in a good spot to put up a solid score against an inconsistent offense.
