The heat continues as we turn out attention to Thursday, June 16th slate of baseball games! Last night was like Christmas as the Padres annihilated the Cubs 19-5. However, that was then, and this is now.

In a weird way, we get a little break tonight with only five games on the main slate. Break or not we need to be smart as we build. Ownership percentages will be skewed and leaning in weird directions. I have assembled five players who I think can tip the scale in our favor. Let’s dig on in!

Today’s baseball schedule gives us a nine-game All-Day slate. FanDuel’s Main slate is five games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is only four games locking at 7:05p. While Yahoo! is a five-game Main and locks early at 7:05p.

TEX at DET 7:10p 2B/3B Ezequiel Duran(FD-$2,800)(DK-$2,500)(Y!-$18)

Texas is letting the kid play and he should run wild in Detroit tonight!

I have the need, the need for speed! Duran has been an outstanding surprise addition in seasonal formats and once again that has carried over to the DFS world! The Rangers head to Detroit for a few games during the Tiger’s next existential crisis. Since his call-up on June 4th, Zeke has hit .326, with two homers, five RBI, and two steals. Duran has been off the chart upside tonight against the Tigers. We’re looking at 5% ownership on FD and 6.3% on DK but to be fair, it is a small Main slate so no worries.

TEX at DET 7:10p 2B Marcus Semien(FD-$3,200)(DK-$4,600)(Y!-$21)

Marcus has dug out after his awful start to the season. Look for a productive night ahead in Detroit!

Once again, I find myself over the moon for a Texas Ranger! Not Walker but Marcus. He had a painfully slow start to the season, but it looks as though he’s out of the woods now and righting the ship. Semien has had five multi-hit games this month, going 25-for-73(.328 BA). In addition to seven steals and eight extra-base hits. This entire series in Detroit should be like letting loose kids in a candy shop for Texas. Per the ROF Study Hub Semien’s value tier on both FD and DK is an A+.

NYM v MIL 7:10p 3B/2B Eduardo Escobar(FD-$2,800)(DK-$3,600)(Y!-$15)

As folks flock to the Mets 1-4 order sneakily add in Escobar!

Using Eduardo tonight is slightly more about the Brewers opposing SP Aaron Ashby than Escobar himself. Ashby got tossed around his last time out and has allowed 10 runs in 10.2 total innings this month. Aaron has made his hay on ground ball-outs, but something took a turn and there’s been a lot more hard contact. In walks the Mets and Eduardo. He is stuffed into that New York batting order and batting 5th. He has hit two bombs and accounted for nine RBI in his last ten games. While folks stack up that NYM 1-4 order let’s get a little sneaky and toss in Escobar. On paper and the ROF Study Hub, no one is paying attention to him as he’s only 2% owned on FD and even lower at 1.7% on DK.

TB @ NYY 7:05p OF Randy Arozarena(FD-$3,700)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$18)

Randy hammers 4-seam fastballs. Guess which pitch Luis Severino throws the most?

Do you know what I love about Randy tonight? The same reason folks probably dislike using Randy tonight, Luis Severino on the hill tonight. Did you know Luis throws his 4-seam fastball up and in 47.6% of the time? Guess what pitch Randy absolutely obliterates? Yes, a 4-seamer fastball is good enough for a .351 average. In his last ten games, Arozarena has two bombs, four steals, and ten RBI. Looking into the ROF Study Hub Randy is only 1% owned on FD and 0.6% on DK. It is almost too good to be true!

PHI at WSH 7:05p 1B Rhys Hoskins(FD-$3,600)(DK-$4,400)(Y!-$26)

Rhys has been hotter than the weather lately with a .517 AVG.

I am all over the Phillies tonight against Pat Corbin but I have zeroed in on Rhys. Hoskins has five bombs, 11 RBI, and a terrific .517 average in his last seven games. Again, it is only a five-game main slate, and players, and lines may be close but Hoskins has to be a must-own. Also, expect Rhys to be 10-12% owned on both FD and DK but he’s a free square we cannot afford to miss.
