Today’s baseball schedule gives us a fifteen-game All-Day slate. FanDuel’s Main slate is eleven games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is twelve games locking at 7:05p. While Yahoo! is an eleven-game Main and locks early at 7:05p. Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for Friday, June 17, shall we?
MIA @ NYM 7:10p 2B/SS Jazz Chisholm Jr.(FD-$4,100)(DK-$5,100)(Y!-$19)
Jazz might be a jerk but the kid can play ball.
Jazz and his talent are undeniable. I was shocked to read that there has been an issue with Jazz and his Miami teammates. The kid was a stud prospect and has officially broken out this year. Could it be a case of too much money and fame too fast? Almost certain it’ll subside and level out. As crappy as it sounds if Jazz is producing on the field most other issues will come second. In his last 7 games, Chrisholm has collected 6 hits, 6 runs, 3 home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. What I love most about Miami tonight and Jazz are the ownership percentages. Looking at the ROF Study Hub he looks to be 2% owned on FD and a minuscule 0.8% on DK. Lock and load Jazz tonight against Carlos Carrasco who was hit hard his last time out.
CWS at HOU 8:10p 3B Jake Burger(FD-$3,100)(DK-$3,500)(Y!-$18)
Jake hasn’t played since Monday after HBP but all signs point to him being back in the lineup tonight!
Mr. Burger(my nickname in high school) has asserted himself in this White Sox lineup as of late. In his last seven games, Jake has hit for a .391 average along with three bombs, five RBI, and seven runs. Looking at a larger time frame, this month, Jake has been batting .359. If I have taught anybody anything it is to ride out hot streaks in DFS formats. The White Sox, for now, will find room for him in their daily lineup! Jake Burger was hit on the hand by a pitch on Monday and has been given rest throughout the week. From everything I have read and seen he will be back to play tonight, Friday the 17th. Furthermore, his ownership percentages are literally next to nothing due to his time off. If Jake does what I expect Jake to do tonight he will be rostered by the person who wins $100,000. Only 0.1% owned on both FD and DK, WOW!
SD at COL 8:40p 1B/DH Luke Voit(FD-$3,600)(DK-$3,800)(Y-$22)
Luke needs our attention tonight as the Padres play in Coors Field!
Luke Voit should be the poster boy for DFS formats. The guy is in and out of the lineup with injuries and soft tissue issues every year. However, when he is playing, he commands our attention! Which, if I may say, is right now and tonight! In the last week, Voit has been good for a .281 average, three bombs, and 11 RBI. Per the Rise or Fall Study Hub Luke has straight A’s on both his FD/DK projection tier and his value tier. To go along with 4% ownership on FD and 6.8% on DK. Let us not forget San Diego and Luke are playing in Coors Field throughout the weekend. In my best Darth Vader voice, “Bombs away for Luke, Luke, you’re on my roster.”
ARZ v MIN 9:40p OF Alek Thomas(FD-$2,400)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$15)
Smeltzer will make a mistake and Alek Thomas will make him pay tonight.
Arizona isn’t necessarily a good team as they sit at 30-35 overall but they have been a good source of value from their players. Case in point, Alek Thomas. Over the last week, Alek has hit .385 with six runs, and two stolen bases. The big thing, though, is Thomas’ two stolen bases in this recent stretch. Thomas should be a nice sneaky source of counting stats tonight as the Twins send SP/RP Devin Smeltzer to the mound. Devin has pitched well so far this year, but he does throw his 4-seam fastball 43.4% of the time sometimes it is literally right down the middle, a meatball as they say. Thomas has a first-pitch swinging percentage of 61.4% with only a 25.2% whiff rate. In my opinion I think we see Alek swing a whole lot on that first pitch. If he misses, then he’s already seen what he’s after. Smeltzer will make a mistake and Alek Thomas will make him pay tonight.

STL at BOS 7:10p 2B/3B/SS Brendan Donovan(FD-$2,800)(DK-$3,200)(Y!-$17)
Donovan will never be a big power guy but his 27.5%-line drive rate is just beautiful for daily formats.
What a joy it has been to watch Donovan flourish with the Cards. A few days back St. Louis played a doubleheader and he went 5-for-9 with 4 runs scored and an RBI. In addition, in the last seven days, Brendan has hit .481! His walk rate is higher than his strikeout rate by 0.6%. I find that to be very impressive for a kid and his first taste of the big leagues. From everything I have seen Donovan will never be a big power guy but his 27.5%-line drive rate is just beautiful for daily formats.
